Charming Guest House - Pittsburgh's Little Italy

Location is a few blocks from Children's hospital.. You could offer coffee with the stay..We have stayed at a lot of airbnb and they always have coffee...

At least stock coffee...

The bed and the pillows were comfortable.

The place had a very strong funky smell to it because of trash from the previous guests that was not taken out. The thermostat was poorly working so the house was chilly instead of keeping the inside temperature at 70+ F. The bathroom and shower was in poor condition which adds to inconvenience.

Location was very good, not far from CMU. There are not many accommodations near that area.

Set your expectations right. If you expect a cute/charming cottage, you shall be disappointed. Its a tiny house in a congested neighborhood built in 1850s, and things barely function. Everything shows the age. Stairs are creaking, the chairs are shaking, the window AC loud. Even door locks are not good, and the door to basement is missing. The toilet is not stable, the couch downstairs is small for a full length person.

I liked the location and the size!

Clean quiet apartment.

Completely overpriced if you ask me. When we arrived back door was completely unlocked which made me nervous throughout stay. It’s advertised as having two beds.. the one upstairs and the sofa, yet there were no blankets at all for the sofa. I used the sheet while my other guest used the comforter. Eventually owner wrote back and said there were additional blankets possibly in a tote in the basement. If you saw the basement stairs you would understand why I was not going in some random basement, especially after the back door was unlocked when we arrived. There was also a motion light on the stairs leading towards the basement that went off all night long and thoroughly stressed me out wondering what the hell motion it was catching. Barely slept at all. Just wasn’t a good stay.

The host was very helpful with directions about where to park.

The pictures provided are from a different property. The property we were in was smaller, older and not nearly as well kept. Disappointing, due to expectations set by the pictures and the description of the place. Rugs were not vacuumed and overall the place was not very clean. Finding a parking space was very difficult.
