Charming Guest House - Pittsburgh's Little Italy

The location was great, and the kitchen was well-stocked with utensils, pans, and dishes. Nick also let me know when the cleaning crew was done so I could bring my stuff over before the scheduled check-in, after my early arrival. I appreciated the flexibility. He made himself available for anything I might need.

A colander or strainer would have been great in the kitchen, and the coffee pot wasn't clean. It was also very cold, especially the first couple of days, so a thicker blanket on the bed would have been helpful, or one could have been available. The bedroom floor was a little dusty.

I didn't like the fact that there was no TV in the bedroom. My husband was handicapped and couldn't go up and downstairs. He uyes, it was OK. It was a cold day when we really couldn't go out, but there was nothing to do upstairs in the bedroom. So we had to bring him down to sit him on the foot on to watch TV all day very uncomfortable. If there had been a TV in the room, we could have just stayed in the bedroom with a cup of coffee hot chocolate and enjoyed TV or movies. However, overall, the state was pleasant except for that 1 factor. Not for the Handicapped

Host was wonderful, friendly and attentive. Location was OK and central. It was a hot week in summer and AC was acceptable but a bit noisy (portable unit in bedroom). I would stay again.

Really nothing objectionable. Anything I might not have liked were things I expected not to like due to the location (not the best part of town) and style of the accommodations (steps- I am older and have some physical weaknesses). None of this is of any fault of the host.

Location good. Bed fairly comfortable. Door code access easy. WiFi worked well. Owner provided good information about local restaurants. Parking decent most of the time.

Place in horrible condition, especially the bathroom, where there were exposed pipes, ripped ceiling drywall, rough and unpainted surfaces, and a shower curtain that had mildew on the bottom. The bathroom appeared to be slapped together haphazardly, and looked more like a condemned building bathroom, rather than a guest facility. In addition, the ceiling on the stairs going up to the bedroom and bathroom was very low, and I almost hit my head several times — and I’m under 5’9”! And the outside steps going up to the front door had broken concrete, with pieces still on the steps. Please look at the photos and judge for yourself. I selected this place because of the photos that the owner provided — which are accurate, but NOT representative of the rental.

We loved the neighborhood. We walked to dinner and had the best time. Wasn’t far from the museums. The host was fantastic. The apartment was small but perfect for my husband and I.

Parking is scarce you have to use street parking but there's a lot streets in the area you can park on
