Bowhayes Farm - Camping & Glamping - Bell Tents - Cider Orchard

We wanted somewhere to stay overnight for an early flight out from Exeter airport. The location was perfect, the glamping facilities excellent and the owner of the site could not have been more helpful. We have already highly recommended this place to others.

Amazing bathroom, kitchen and tent. The old tree bench was so comfortable. Bed so comfortable.

Nothing, I suppose guy ropes slightly off centre would help exit and entrance to tent.

Our stay with Howard and family at bowhayes farm was really great. We loved the freedom and space you feel in the orchards. It’s very quiet and peaceful. Howard was a very hospitable host. Nothing was too much trouble. I also really enjoyed the fire pit, evening sitting by the fire chatting and eating marshmallows. The tents and kitchen/ bathroom buildings are all very nicely designed. As there are only few tents and spread out you don’t feel overlooked or crowded, most of the time you don’t see anyone. The kitchen has all the basics you need for cooking food camping style and although I didn’t use there is a microwave etc a short walk from the main camping hub.

I think the main draw back is little electricity (I didn’t see that when booking) but to be honest it actually turned out to be a blessing me and my freind were able to enjoy more of each others company and Howard let us use the electricity near the main buildings to charge laptops etc.

Peaceful Left to our own privacy There wasn’t anyone staying when we were there so we had the horsebox bathroom to ourselves - it had been beautifully renovated and so clean It was a very wet few days and the tent stayed very dry Beautiful apple orchard location Quick drive to the town Hosts were very kind and accommodating

The only thing we thought of was that an awning would have been a great addition. Where we could sit outside if it was raining and to make absolutely sure we didn’t track any water inside but it’s not something that would deter us away in the future

Beautiful quiet secluded setting. Was so good for the soul to be in such an environment. Felt connected to nature and far away from the stresses of every day life.

I couldn't fault any of it.

Excellent location and ideal for active people. You can travel light as all rentals, bedding etc is provided for you. There is a kitchen hut with free for all use of the facilities if your glamping. Howard and Fiona were very attentive and were excellent for advising on local areas to visit and places to explore. It is an adult only facility and dogs are allocated to certain areas to ensure it’s a tranquil and relaxing stay if that’s what you’re looking for. We walked from the camp site through the valley all the way to Ladram bay - ~3.5 hike but beautiful countryside and views of the ocean on the coastal path.

Amazing stay. Beautiful orchard, great walking and mountain biking trails nearby. Bell tent immaculate, comfortable and very well presented.
