Jack's House

Property was a good size for 11 adults and comfortable. Walk to the sea and shops very close.

There needs to be provision to seat 11 people as the house advertises up to 14. The kitchen seats 4 and the lounge a has a 4 seater dining table. So, having dinner for 11 was a challenge.

I stayed with my partner and 10 friends for my birthday and we had an absolute ball. The house is much nicer in person than photos, as if that is even possible with how gorgeous it looked! The kitchen is one of my dreams, my friends even thought I had decorated it. Had all possible things you could need. The fridge has ice/water too which was an added bonus for me! There is also a little sheep field behind the house which was lovely. Lots of seating throughout the house. We loved the attic/games room. Super close to shops and train station. Had private parking. I had such an amazing weekend here and we are looking to book again in the future. There was also complimentary prosecco, Thank you! :)

The pillows were a bit hard for myself. I couldn't tell which rooms were extra large double bed compared to standard double bed. Only other criticism would be to reiterate other reviews regarding the entry to the games room/attic. 6 of our group hit their head over the weekend and the wood did come off, but we managed to fix it back on. I think adding something foamy or soft over this would really help.

Lovely large property that accommodated all the family. Very central. Fabulous views from the rear of the property. Good off road parking.

Everything was perfect

Perfect accessible location, spread over 5 floors, providing lots of space for all the family.

The one shower on the first floor was cold, we couldn't seem to get it to work correctly, it could have been us as all other showers were hot.

The attention to detail in the house was fantastic, everything was there for us and lots of useful information about local things to do!!

The house was nicely decorated and it was clean. There were plenty of plates, bowls, glasses and cutlery for a large group. The property is a short distance walk from the beach and a large Co Op for essentials was very close. A welcome gift was a nice touch.

Overall the house was nice. Decorated tastefully and thoughtful touches like a Christmas tree, games and plenty of crockery. However the negative was that one shower did not work at all (we got told this an hour before check in) and 2 of the other showers were cold. We did manage to share the 2 other showers but ultimately we had booked a property with 5 working showers so this was disappointing. Lisa did come by and have a look but couldn’t fix it and we were told as it was new year there was no plumber available. Some of the cooking trays have the non stick coating peeling off which isn’t nice, so might be worth changing those. Not a major problem as we managed. For a house that accommodates large numbers the dining table was small and although there was another table in the lounge we were there as a family and would have liked to all sit down together to eat. Lisa explained about a picnic table that was stored downstairs which we made use of, thank you. Obviously we probably should have looked more closely at the size of the table and seating arrangements when booking as although there are plenty of rooms for everyone to spread out, we all wanted to sit together as we were there on a family new year break. Removing the small round table in the lounge and adding an extra sofa in that bay window would make for a cosy whole group space. On a positive, the two sofas in the lounge were very comfortable. Finally, we did have two nasty bumped heads on the low ceilings from the loft area, there are signs, but as a previous guest mentioned I do think some form of padding there could be wise, also a first aid kit.

House was amazing! Everything we needed. Lots of space. Short walk to the beach and big supermarket very close for anything you need. Would definitely stay again
