Kian's Place

I'm incredibly happy with my stay at Kian's place. The hosts are wonderful, the family helped me with everything and treated me with such kindness. The accomodation is brand new after the renovation, the bed is very comfortable with a good mosquito net. The windows are glazed, that means you won't have insects and reptiles in your room (this is very rare for Sri Lanka). I enjoyed working from the terrace, the internet is good enough for work. There is everything you might need for a long stay - a well-equipped kitchen and a washing machine. The location is perfect - in a quiet area, but close to everything - bus stops, supermarkets, restaurants, ATM, pharmacy and the ocean. I'm extremely grateful for the true hospitality, warm welcome, and all little bonuses like fresh juices and muffins, drinking water, etc. And thanks a lot for arranging the airport taxi - it was super fast, comfortable and for a reasonable price. Highly recommend!

Honestly the best place I've stayed in Sri Lanka. Quiet, peaceful, spacious room with huge bathroom and balcony that look just like on the photos. And everything become so much more accesible with the bikes provided by the host for free. The host family are professionals in the hospitality industry and they welcome you with homemade bakeries and drinks. It is just such a perfect place to a relaxed and peaceful stay with easy access to the beach and everything in town!

Staying at Kian house was like being welcomed into a second home. The atmosphere is warm, cozy, and incredibly inclusive, making it a perfect spot for travelers to feel comfortable and safe. The family running the place is so kind and attentive, always making sure guests feel cared for. The view from the terrace is simply breathtaking. I left with beautiful memories and a nourished soul. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a place that feels like home away from home! And there are also some breathtaking beaches so close to the house. Just about 4-5 min walking. I really like to be there again one day.

super clean and modern accomodation with a nice kitchen, bathroom and a comfortable bed! Water and bicycles are always available. Charitha and his whole family is lovely! Very kind and helpful :) We would definitely come back, had a great time here!

It's the most beautiful accommodation I've stayed in (in all my travels), run by the kindest and most hospitable family I met in Sri Lanka. And, what's also important - a family that has a broad experience in hospitality and a good sense of privacy (which is not always so obvious in Sri Lanka😉), which guarantees a perfect stay. The place is brand new, super comfortable, well equipped, and designed with the utmost care for details. The rooms are located on the 3rd floor of a beautiful house, among coconut tree tops, on a chill street, in a perfect location ensuring a short walking distance to everything you may need: bus stops, supermarket, small local shops, Madiha Beach & restaurants. What's more - the area is really, really beautiful: you live among coconut treetops, surrounded by birds, and you can often hear the ocean from the room and terrace. My room had a sunrise view 🥹 which was the absolutely best thing ever. Waking up to the sun rays shining through the coconut trees just automatically makes your days better! The rooms are spacious and have everything you may need to be comfortable: a big bed with a great mattress & mosquito net, bedside tables with drawers, a fast, quiet fan (soon also AC), a lockable! wardrobe big enough to fit in your stuff even if you're coming for a longer stay (also, it has a lockable drawer inside in case you wanna feel 500% safe about something), and a wooden cloth rack. Each room has a huge bathroom and a dedicated terrace. The big, well-equipped kitchen is shared by both rooms, but it's more than enough. There's also a shared fridge and washing machine, so you really get everything you need to have a little comfy life there. I initially wanted to book for 5 nights but ended up extending to over 3 weeks - and I left only cause I wanted to be closer to my favorite surf spot.

0 issues. Everything was perfect. (One thing NOT CONNECTED to the accommodation itself: remember you're in Sri Lanka, so stray dogs bark at night. There are a few loud guys in the neighborhood, but you can hear them only with the open windows. Also, ear plugs solve the problem!)

Our favorite place we've stayed ! Outstanding room, perfect kitchen, wonderful balcony on the third floor up very high in the beautiful trees. Everything we needed and more. The kitchen is very well stocked. Very quiet at night we slept great. Such a short walk to the beach and surfing point. Seriously our favorite place! We booked three days and are staying several weeks because we don't want to leave. The host family is so friendly, welcoming, and attentive to anything we could need. The accommodation is better than upscale American lodging we have in the US.

Nothing was bad, everything was wonderful !
