Kangaroo House Bed & Breakfast

The breakfast was delicious and cooked to perfection, seasoned with herbs from the garden. The hosts joined us for engaging conversations each morning and were gracious, informed, and friendly. The home was inviting and tastefully decorated, and there were plenty of places to sit outside to enjoy the birds and trees.

The breakfast was excellent. The hot tub was the right temperature and private, so it was a great experience. The breakfast conversations with the owners were enlightening, and it's cool that they speak and connect with their guests and give great island recommendations. The reading room is wonderful, with great records to listen to.

We have stayed in many B&B's, but the Kangaroo House is a cut above. We received a call when our room was ready and were met at the door with true hospitality that continued through every detail. The decor was a celebration of the history and architecture of the home. The seating in the lounge areas provided for guests to have their own space or to mingle with other guests. There were plenty of towel bars and luggage stands which is a detail that goes a long way. The breakfast was better than most restaurants and the owners were thoughtful to our gluten free needs and allergies. The coffee was from a local roaster and local pottery was used tastefully on each table. The library was perfect for a getaway space to journal and explore the books. But the highlight was when the owners, having served us, sat down to chat over coffee. Charles and Jill filled us in on the history of the space and let us into their circle of friends. Suddenly a room full of strangers felt like good friends with inside jokes.
