Kokoro no sato・Ume

The location close to two train stations was fabulous. Being close to Fushimi Inari Taisha had drawbacks in that it was very, very crowded most of the day. I liked the double glazed windows on the side of the train tracks. This made any noise from the train minimal. The train also did not run all night. I like having the flavour of Japanese living downstairs while also having beds upstairs. There was also great closet space upstairs. The washer was great, although there was not much facility for drying clothes. The airer provided worked, but it was overloaded by our 4 days' worth of clothes for 2 people. The water pressure in the shower was wonderful. Having heat pumps both upstairs and downstairs was great. The grocery store was only about 350 m down the road from this location, which was great too.

The kitchen was small and challenging to work in. It was great to have a reasonably sized refrigerator ... or at least 2 to 3 times bigger than the little refrigerators one gets in a hotel. And it had a good freezer section. The stairs were very creaky. Luckily, the noise didn't bother my traveling companion, who slept on the futon downstairs on the mat floor. The bathtub was snug for an adult.
