4 Beckside Cottage

Basic but lovely , comfortable and clean room in a fantastic location.

The room was very lovely, cosy and clean. Free parking right outside. The location was great too, walkable to the high street and also walkable down to Lake Windermere. Ahead of our stay, the property manager/landlord kindly sent over a list of cafes and restaurants to visit which was helpful.

One thing to be aware of - the heating is controlled by the property manager/landlord rather than only in the room (you can adjust level of heat on the radiator). This meant chasing it up at one point. They did sort it, but never replied to messages, including when we left. Would recommend the stay, but communication could do with some improvement.

Easy to access. Clean and comfortable, lovely decorated rooms very cozy. Perfect location and was able to park my car right outside for the duration of my stay. Self check in which was very easy and problem free. Didn’t encounter the host (which I absolutely loved as it’s so nice being left to your own devices with no interference, really makes it feel like your own place for the duration of your stay) but the host was on hand via messages whenever I needed and even dropped off an iron outside the room for us when requested. A really nice stay, great value for money and I will definitely be returning.

Parking was free and you could walk to the centre!

There were no toiletries. The roof fully leaked, luckily it was on our last day, but still we checked out early as the leak was far too close to the electronics and it didn’t feel safe! There was also no fan, so you have to open the window but the road is really loud and so you struggle to get any sleep too!
