The Red Lion

Fabulous country pub, very friendly atmosphere, staff were extremely helpful and accommodating. Food was top class and very obviously cooked from scratch. We ate there on each of our three nights. Our room was cosy, clean and comfortable. We will definitely return 🙂

I had an excellent stay at the Red Lion. The breakfast was very good and made to order each morning, and I was very pleased with my room. The Red Lion is an an ideal location on the southern edge of the Lake District, very secluded and very quiet. I would certainly stay here again.

The welcome from the staff was brilliant, the room and shower room was spotless and had all the facilities. We had evening meal and breakfast both were excellent and the selection of real ales was also good.

Nothing could have been better, it was what you get from a lovely village pub. We will stay again when we visit the area.

Steve and Lucy was The Perfect hosts. Looking very much after their customers needs. The pub was small and quaint with a restaurant and patio garden with stunning views. My room was an ideal twin room. Very clean and adequate for all your needs with Tea,Coffee and Galaxy chocolate drinks available with biscuits. Television although I did not use . Lovely bathroom with excellent shower. Car parking is not an issue at all despite reading in some reviews it was. Plenty room to park you car. Breakfast was spot on,I had a full English. Coffee or tea available with orange juice and toast with Jam Meals at the restaurant was Masterchef quality My meals during my stay was top nosh. Loved it and my stay. I look forward to my stay next year. Some really friendly customers at this pub. Wiggy was a character along with the Ladies man The Genral Brigadier who i loved.
