Victorian Terraced House in Salisbury; 3 bedrooms

Comfy family home. Quiet, well maintained. Wished we could have stayed longer! Would definitely stay here again. Walkable to everything. Don't be out off by main road nearby - house very quiet.

Train at bottom of garden. Not too loud - no problem if you have earplugs.

Well placed to walk into the city centre, or to the station. The large airy kitchen was a nice place to sit with friends. Although quite close to the ring road and railway Nelson Road is relatively quiet. Conflicting information about check-in time: booking confirmation said 3pm, info from host said 5pm. We negotiated to 4pm, and then the host generously made sure the house was ready from noon. I asked for a car permit and this was issued with no problem.

We couldn't get the wi-fi to work on our arrival day/evening. After contacting our host we were given details of an alternative network which worked without problem. It would have been nice to sit in the kitchen with the patio doors open, but there was a persistent cat (presumably a neighbour's) that kept lurking around and made a determined effort to enter the house when we first opened the door. When I picked up the key, I first of all thought I couldn't open the front door. The key turned the wrong way and was quite stiff. Once I'd worked this out there was no problem. A warning about the 'invisible turn' into Nelson Road when you come in off the roundabout at the top of Castle Street would be helpful. I continued down to the next side road, turned round, and then turned left into Nelson Road. Even when I knew it was there it's so close to the roundabout that turning right is almost impossible and probably not advisable.

The location was ideal and the street was love quiet. Katherine the host was really helpful with places to visit and information about checking in. The house had everything you need. The beds were comfortable and the shower was hot. Waitrose 5 minutes walk away. A perfect stay

One minor thing, a bit of the ceiling in front bedroom needs painting over a previous leak .
