Gaining entry to the room difficult

The host didn't provide any clear instructions on how to get the keys and how to get to the apartment itself. The other room was empty during our stay so basically we were alone in the apartment which made it a lot better. It may be too crowded if both of the rooms are occupied. Many of the furnishings were obviously cheaply made. Electrical wiring was very unstable, and many of the lights would flicker. The electricity went out when we tried to turn the blow dryer on. The hosts didn't now allow us to use the dishwasher, washing machine and the dishes that were in the kitchen for seemingly no reason at all. They would also come and go as they pleased without any warnings.

It is a lovely room in a flat in a very central location. The flat was really nice, clean and decorated with all the little touches that make it feel like home.

Getting there was quite a quest. Probably OK for someone familiar with the "Easy Pick" drill? I'll decipher and share the steps here for people like me, who is not. 1. "Getting into the property" email from Booking.com said: "Upon arrival, use the unique pick-up code received to get your key." Upon arrival I tried PIN from that email, tried to install the Easy Pick app to no avail - it appeared there actually was a separate email just an hour (!) before the check-in time. So - upon arrival, check your mailbox sometime around your stated check-in time - there should be another email with your pick-up code. That means you've got to ensure your INTERNET is working in Norway so you could check your mailbox upon arrival, or don't forget to check it via wifi at the airport or on the train from airport. 2. "Get your key from the front desk Easy Pick terminal, which is equipped with a special chip" - there's some terminal on the wall in the shop - ignore it, go straight to the counter and show the pick-up code from the step 1 to the shop assistant - they'll hand you the key. 3. Property "Oscars gate 19" is not clearly marked on Google maps - the location mark is somewhere in the middle of that big building. So if you use Google maps - look for Oscars gate 17, head towards it, pass through the black gates on the corner of Oscars gate and another street, and there's a door on the left that is Oscars gate 19. 4. When checking out, check that 7-Eleven shop's opening hours so that you could hand them the key (otherwise you should probably contact the owner? Not sure - I made it to shop opening at 8am then had to rush to the airport) There's a camera in the living room so they can be checking on you to call (!) you in the middle of the night to inform that you shouldn't leave any belongings in the common living area (that was my bad, I admit - but a 1am call?)

The location and the apartment are really good. It was on a 4th floor right downtown, 3 mins walk from the main square and the train that takes you to the and from the airport.

The lack of information provided by the owner is downright stupid. I got a code around the check-in time, with no further information. I had to ask what to do with the code. I found out that the keys had to be picked up at a 7-11, but when arrived I had to ask the staff what to do with it, because -again- no information was provided. The kind guy from the 7 11 gave me some keys, saying that 'in case these are not the right ones, come back', which defeats the whole point of having a code to pick them up. After that, I had to ASK AGAIN to the owner which apartment and room should I go to, because no information was provided and had to wait for them to answer. And of course, the keys that were provided were not the right ones, therefore I had to walk back to the shop to switch them up. Check-out procedure was explained in a papersheet on the table of the apartment. The keys had to be delivered nack to the 7 11 after leaving the place. But the 7 11 opens at 7, which makes impossible for someone to return them if an early flight has to be taken (which of course was my case). Again, I had to go to the 7 11 and ask about it. Overall, the whole communication was awful and the lack of interest made me feel that the 'contactless' check in makes no actual sense.

Property manager didn't respond until I had to call booking.com support for help, keeping me 1 hour past the check-in time in rain, and address to the accommodation was also wrong, having to figure it out myself how to get to the right building.
