Beautiful 3 Bed Near Alton Towers, Polar Bears, Peak District

We had a wonderful stay. The property is spacious and features very comfortable beds. The kitchen is equipped with plenty of equipment for cooking. It is also in a fantastic location—close to local attractions but with a peaceful, rural feel.

The property required a few adjustments to suit our needs. We removed the floor runners immediately to eliminate trip hazards for our elderly guests. In the kitchen, we noticed a few basic items were missing, specifically a jug and a sieve. The bedroom layout was also a bit awkward; the clothing rails felt bulky and stood in the way, though they were necessary as there was no other wardrobe space. While the decor wasn't quite to our personal taste, the property served its purpose once we made these quick adjustments.

Location was Excellent and ideal for Alton towers and Peak wildlife park and also Dovedale where the Stepping stones are and all great days out. Country kitchen was also excellent for Breakfast House was spotless on arrival and a great little welcome hamper and the house has everything in the draws and cupboards you need. Host was good with communication responses at time when your there if need to ask anything or instructions on heating or appliances etc

Quite a few niggles as quite a few have said & too many for £823 for 3 nights even over Easter, There are too many cushions and knick-knacks and irritating rugs to say the least and were not on holiday to be picking them all up and trying to find room for them & the sofa was very uncomfy in living room (others have said this too) It was very hard to leave the place as clean as when we arrived and we tried hard with granddaughters to do so even to the extent of emptying bins and I even went the extra mile to pick up the outside furniture in windy weather that had blown over in a strong storm as worried I would get blamed and charged from owner. We drew the line at bed linen having to be removed (as owner wanted in the instruction manual on arrival) on checkout as we feel we paid more than enough for this service to be done by cleaners when leaving the property before for next guests arrival, just feel doing most of the job for them as your there to enjoy and be away from usual home routines and we've never done that in any hotel or guest house or even caravans* ever stopped in. (*apart from making up bed linen In them) Note: We will probably now get some bad feedback as owner tends not to take onboard constructive criticism even on polite levels and responds quite abusively as can be seen in previous feedbacks also.

The property was in the perfect location for us to visit Alton Towers for the weekend. The beds were comfy and all of the rooms were really nicely done up. The little welcome hamper was a lovely touch and we thoroughly enjoyed the contents. The garden was gorgeous, perfect spot for a nice sunny day.

There wasn’t anything we didn’t like about the property.

12 minute drive from Alton Towers. The property was clean, tidy and very comfortable with ample space for parking 2 cars. The welcome pack on arrival exceeded our expectations.

The cottage was beautiful throughout. Very clean and the beds very comfortable. We had everything there we needed. 10 minute drive from alton towers very close location. The host was responsive to messages. I would highly recommend and will definitely be booking again the next time we go to alton towers. Thank you for a pleasant stay.

Location was perfect for our visit to Alton Towers and the Churnett valley railway and a ten minute drive into Cheadle for pubs and shops. Nice welcome hamper on arrival with essentials

A very charming cottage with a very high level of equipment and excellent outside space. It's on the main road but set a long way back so you don't hear it and barely see it. We were even greeted with a generous hamper even though we only stayed two nights. Given it was the hottest day of the year so far, we were very grateful for the fans and portable aircon unit provided. We never met the hosts, but the communication and instructions were excellent. We would definitely return if in the area.

Only very minor niggles: too many cushions and knick-knacks, no blind on the roof window in the upstairs bedroom, no downstairs loo and the bathrooms hadn't been renovated yet. But everything was otherwise very comfortable and certainly functional.

Location was great and very relaxing. The owner left a lovely goodies basket and essentials in the fridge. The place was immaculate set in a lovely area with dog walks from the house. Can’t fault it. We had a fabulous time. Thank you

Nice property with a lot of character. Great location and good parking. Host really helpful. Very clean and welcoming. Plenty of kitchen utensils, nice bedrooms, comfortable beds. The property is probably bigger than the pictures suggest. Superb arrival hamper.

The numerous rugs were a serious health and safety trip hazard. They rucked up as soon as we walked on them and we had to pick them up. As others have said the sofas are really hard, with a lot of cushions that get in the way. Bathrooms are carpeted and quite old. Showers are ok but would benefit from more power. We realised on the last morning that the washer dryer was not drying. We woke early in the top floor bedroom because there is no blind on the skylight window and we were lying in bed at 5am with the sun shining into our eyes. Also, there were no opening windows in this room. A fan is provided but it could get very hot in the summer. Overall though the positives far outweigh the negatives and we would happily return to the property.
