"Fabulous Apartment. Easy walk to historic city centre."

10.0

Fabulous 2 bedroom apartment (one 2x single beds, one double) within easy walking distance of Lecce's beautiful pedestrianised old town centre - packed with restaurants, bars, and plenty of shopping. The apartment is clean and quiet with plenty of space to sit around or cook a meal. - fridge, hob, and microwave included. Air Conditioning too. Friendly and helpful host. To explore the bottom of Puglia, its countryside, beaches and fabulous old towns like Otranto, you need a car (or a good-sized motorbike). Parking is not easy in central Lecce, but this apartment has its own reserved driveway to park in. (We flew into Bari -spent 2 days there, then fast train to Lecce for 5 days, which worked well for us)

Certainly nothing to stop us going there again. - I wish we'd had longer. The sea where we went was warm and clean, but much of the heel of Italy is rocky-shored. Even in shoulder-season (Late June), the sandy beaches are PACKED. We needed to drive West beyond Torre Lapillo to find clean soft sandy beaches with enough space to swing a cat. A bit closer ( about 45 mins drive) the fabulous Baia dei Turchi, to the North of Otranto, was really good, because Parking is very limited and it's a good 20 to 30 minute walk to get to the beach, which deters the crowds. The alternative is to sit in the "urbanised" rows of sun-loungers on private beaches or wooden patios on the rocky shore with steps down to the sea. (Or you could rent a small motorboat for a day to find your own private cove, which would be a lovely day out.)

Location and private parking were wonderful! You can easily walk to the historical centre, there are many restaurants nearby. The house is very clean, well equipped, quiet.

Beds in downstairs bedroom are a bit too soft, not very comfortable for the adult, but kids didnt mind. Also in the bedroom downstairs there is no proper window, however you can air the room, so it is ok.

"Lovely, comfortable apartment in great location."

10.0

A very comfortable, and beautifully renovated house with everything you need. It is a short walk to the old town with lots of restaurants close by. There is a reserved parking space right in the front of the house which is very convenient. The host met us and gave us all the information we needed for the house and where to eat around town. We were in there in winter and we were able to enjoy the back sunroom.

The check-in wasn't until 5.30 which we thought was very late, especially for mid-winter. In the upstairs bedroom, there are sensor lights on the stairs - obviously for night bathroom visits, but they light up the entire house and come on even when you roll over in bed - we had to devise a system to stop the sensor from seeing us in bed, but it still caught us on the way down the stairs.
