The Retreat, A relaxing getaway for couples

The property was in a lovely secluded spot, a great sun trap in the courtyard and the hot tub was fantastic. Great to find it was upto temperature. Very much appreciated the welcome pack and provision of tea towel and washing up liquid.

The hot water timer made an annoying clicking sound throughout the night and the blind in the bedroom was broken with a missing slat making it difficult to fall asleep. A change to a digital timer and replacement of the blind is needed. Would have preferred towels and robes to have been tumble dried - they were extremely hard and rough on the skin.

Large and spacious. More than just a bedroom. Lovely lounge and kitchen / dining area. A perfect little home. We only stayed one night but could easily have stayed longer. Lovely private courtyard garden with amazing hot tub. Which was well set up and prepared for us to use immediately. We really enjoyed it, thank you .

Really clean property and Jane was great at telling us what we needed to know and then leaving us to it. Nice outside space and a lovely hot tub with pretty evening lighting.

Small things like a blind missing in the bedroom, the bulb out in the lounge lamp and no bedside table or bedside lamps. A point to note that you do walk through the owners garden to get to the cabin and we were unable to park on the drive so had to leave the car on a nearby land. I found the mattress too soft but that is personal preference.

We liked the hot tub. The house was well equipped and everything was clean. The host was very friendly and helpful. The milk in the fridge for tea and coffee was a nice touch.

We are used to a King size bed so the bed felt a bit small, however the listing did specify double, so it was what we were expecting
