USLocation is at a perfect spot on the North Shore and the view of the ocean from the lanai is great.
USThe house was amazing with the most beautiful views of the ocean. It had everything we could possibly need to make our stay so pleasant without the worries of having to purchase items, such as, snorkles, Boogie boards, shoes, etc.
I wish I had known that someone lived in the property. It's a triplex and while we had the second and third floors there was someone who lived on the first story. There were a couple hiccups with that person, but Steve and John helped us get the issues resolved. You don't see the people very much during your stay.

USUSTh place was perfect for our California folks to reconnect with our Hawaiian cousins a couple nights, as well as close to Malaekahana, where we have long ago family memories. Ted's Bakery was a highlight, particularly for a few who had never been there. Steve was a great host!
Parking is a little tight, but not really a big deal.
US* The host was SO responsive and helpful, from the time I booked the place, all the way through our stay. I cannot emphasize this enough. I’m not sure if Booking.com has a “super host” category, but Steve should definitely qualify for this! * Gated property. It felt very safe! * Amazing view of the ocean (and sunset!) from the top balcony! * Lots of birds to enjoy! * Pool is directly behind the master bedroom; only a few steps away! * “Secret” beach a short walk away; not crowded! * Outdoor faucets/shower to wash away sand before entering the house. * VERY spacious! Yahoo! * LOVED the layout! Four bedrooms are on the main floor, the living room & kitchen area are one large room upstairs. Very spacious, and the high ceiling makes it feel even more roomy! * Large bedrooms! Three of the bedrooms had king beds and an attached full bathroom! SO convenient for everyone. The 4th bedroom was smaller with only a queen bed and no bathroom (our group didn’t use that one). * Great location. All North Shore beaches are only a short drive. It’s an hour (or less) to Honolulu & Waikiki, but we preferred this more rural setting and then driving to the more touristy places * So close to Tao Luau, which we highly recommend!
About the North Shore (NOT in the control of the host - this is just FYI!): * Despite all that I list below, if we had to do it all over again, we would DEFINITELY stay in this location vs in Honolulu/Waikiki. * The Booking.com site showed an incorrect location for this property on its map. When we booked, it showed the property as being very near Sunset Beach. That is not accurate. The property is closer to Waimea Bay Beach Park. * Traffic going south after 2pm is horrible. Sometimes it’s stop and go. Plan accordingly. * Roosters & chickens are everywhere in the North Shore area. The roosters crow very early (4am and 5am onward). Many of our group were able to sleep through this, but some were not. Just be prepared. * The local grocery stores are pretty expensive. In retrospect, we would have bought a LOT more at Costco on our way up here.
