Hom's Homestay Retreat Sarangkot Pokhara

Mi è piaciuto tutto. Tutti molto amichevoli ed ospitali , ci si sentiva come a casa , addirittura si aveva la possibilità di mangiare i loro prodotti ovviamente buonissimi e freschissimi. Inoltre è un bellissimo posto isolato e silenzioso , con una magnifica vista sul lago e si Pokhara. Hom sua moglie e suo figlio, sono stati tra le persone più ospitali che ho incontrato durante tutto il viaggio , è stato un vero piacere poter stare da loro.

The ambience and the people are just woow.

It's a true nature village experience. Feels like you live in family. Also It's a good Sarangkot starting point. If you live downside and you want to go up the Sarangkot there is always a chance of clouds. Here you can wake up. Ask for information : is it visible and if you like going up the hills just go there by feet.

Hom en Bishnu zijn zulke oprechte, lieve en gastvrije mensen. Ze zijn heel open en behulpzaam. Ik voelde me meteen thuis. Als je op zoek bent naar een authentiek verblijf, raad ik het zeker aan om bij hen te verblijven :).

Hom e bishnu sono due persone straordinarie. Ti faranno sentire subito parte della famiglia. Sono di una gentilezza e disponibilità unica. Vi suggerisco di prendervi un po’ di giorni per vivere i loro ritmi, aiutarli nei lavori della loro splendida fattoria (le caprette sono un amore). Il panorama mozzafiato è la pace che si respira sono impagabili. Ottimo punto per partire poi per i trekking

Come ha detto Hom, si tratta di una sistemazione semplice però la loro dolcezza fa sì che uno possa stare anche meglio di un 5 stelle.

Beautiful view on the lake, good location for any type of hikes, yoga & meditation. You'll live with a local family which is a very unique experience. About 10 minutes away there is a peaceful viewpoint, hike to Serangkot is about 1 hour up the hill where you can see the Annapurna. You can get 3 meals a day + tea/water & accommodation for 1000Rupies per person which is a good price. The prices on booking are not right (look at the pricelist in the pictures). There are only 2 guestrooms so it is super quiet & peaceful. Hom is friendly and worked as a trekking guide so he is happy to help out with hikes etc. Make sure to bring some beer or Softdrinks if you don't want to walk 30 minutes to the next minimarket :)

There is no shared kitchen like mentioned in booking. As we just booked with breakfast we bought food to cook in a supermarket before going there. Then Hom told us we can not cook but he can cook our food to share it with everyone (note: the family don't eat beef so bring no beef!) I really missed coffee, but they just have tea. Shower is only cold water. There are no matresses on the beds so you'll sleep on a wooden frame with blankets. Also he told us several times how other people give/send him money (not 1 time, maybe 4-5 times) so we felt pushed to give him something as well which made me feel uncomfortable after a while... And yes we are low budget travellers since a few years, living on a hut on a asian island as well so we are not complaining about "missing luxury" or anything. Just about things, which are very different as described.

Very simple accommodations in the traditional nepali style be aware of that it is not a hotel and to get to location you need to hike a bit And there are a lot of mosquitos The food was good but did repeat itself Still had wonderful time
