Woodside Cottage - Cartmel Fell, Windermere

It was in the middle of nowhere away from the hustle and bustle of life very peaceful

Can’t fault the property but if I had to the bath was out of order and the one shower was very temperamental the other shower was in the annex outside the property

Really wonderful location, house, garden and amenities. Even though we stayed in August, due to the location on a quiet road it didn’t feel like it in terms of business. Really close (10 min drive) to Fell Foot which we launched our paddleboards from (there’s some pull-ins near by we could park as we went early each morning). Some really nice pubs nearby too! Hannah was very helpful. Definitely recommend overall.

The property could use a little maintenance work, the garden around the hot tub needs its light bulbs replacing as it was too dark at night, everything is already there just the lights weren’t working. One side of the toaster kept tripping the electric, as did using the dryer alongside the kettle.

Nothing , it was great

Cleanliness was amazing. One of the best, much better than 4 or 5 stars hotels that I have been to. Amenities in the cottage were just great with outdoor spa tub and outdoor table and chairs just amazing. Also firewood places in living room, attached room, and backyard are also great. Smart TV giving us access to all streaming services that we are subscribed to. Cottage has all appliances that you may ever need: washing machine, dryer, oven, microwave, water boiler,….. On top of that, cottage is equipped with all essentials that you can think of: utensils, cleaning material, water bottles, wood logs, even spices, you name it. WiFi access and mobile coverage were very good. Owner was very responsive for the few inquiries we had and she was very much keen on getting us comfortable in the place.

Access road to the cottage was quite narrow. I am not used to driving on such roads, but after couple of times going through it, it became a breeze. Also there is no WiFi coverage in attached separate bedroom, and mobile coverage there was not great. Otherwise in the whole cottage, WiFi and mobile coverage were great.

The location is on a fell/hill, 15-min driving to Bowness-on-Windermere on the narrow mountain road.

Nothing it was a perfect property for a perfect weekend away

Most wonderful cottage, loved the welcome package of bubbles, crisps and biscuits. The house was of high quality finishes and there was plenty of logs for the log burner. Very comfortable beds and amazing views. We would love to stay here again. Only negative was that the 4th bedroom was in an out building which we were not aware of.
