The comfy bed and the quiet location.

No plug in bathroom sink, bathmats grimy, public hair in shower, only coffee and sugar in room - no milk, no food/breakfast available, housing estate and no shops. Owners spoke little English so was hard to communicate.

1. Room was cramped. 2. Towels were stained. 3. Disturbance during one night ruined our sleep. 4. When we raised the disturbance with the main contact by WhatsApp and Booking.com email, they chose not to respond at all.

Peaceful location, not too far from Dumry railway station with good connection to Glasgow central. Owners were delightful and helpful as I arrived late 11pm and they were smiling

Location - not having to go into the main part of Glasgow if you are just passing through.

Descriptive words can have different meanings when comparing listings on another well known homestay accommodation site, and the valid residential acommodation usually found on this site. After speaking with the property lister, the word ‘detached’ in the title means the house has no common walls with another house. So what? Why even include it? There is no separate access to the ‘private en-suite room’, and the room is not detached from the house. It is a standard small bedroom in a two storey suburban home, with a few items thrown in and access to a small bathroom. You have to be met by the home owners because access is via the internal stairs and then along a landing that has other bedrooms. When I asked about access to the property while staying, I got no response. Giving visitors a copy of your house key is pretty risky, and there was no other apparent option because there is no separate entrance or keypad lock. There was no ‘view of the mountains’, just the neighbouring two storey house. At the time I visited, the house smelled very strongly of southern Asian cooking. If you love the smell. this could be a mouthwatering bonus. If you don’t, it was also strong in the bedroom and whilst opening a window is an option in summer, it wouldn’t be in winter. Not everyone wants to share a home with strangers, but this spare bedroom set-up means you will be. Just be aware of this when making your decision to book.

SOLO BLACK FEMALE TRAVELLERS SHOULD AVOID! The hosts were hostile. No greeting. Asked 'what do I want?' aggressively. I was made to feel extremely uncomfortable. I believe the family that owns the property is ANTI-BLACK! The host were loud with no consideration for guests in the property. I was treated as if I wasn't paying for the service. I assume there is differential treatment depending on your skin colour and mostly likely the intersection with gender. Pay a bit extra to stay somewhere else Worst experience through booking.com. I should actually claim a refund!
