"Had a lovely stay, the hosts were brilliant."

10.0

Location was great for us as we had family nearby. Ennis isn't too far and local garage, pub and shop up the road. Hosts were excellent, they came to check everything was OK for us and had a lovely chat. Very welcoming.

Had to go through one bedroom to get to the other. It would be great for a family but not when you have to share with your mother & father in law!

"Well-equipped, spotlessly clean, welcoming, picturesque."

10.0

My wife, her sister, and I were visiting an old friend from Scotland, now living in Ennis, and we booked a weekend here in August 2025. The cottage is in a lovely, picturesque setting about 20 minutes south of Ennis, and I'm delighted to give it a full 5-star rating. Helen, the owner and her husband, couldn't have been nicer, welcoming us with a bottle of wine and showing us around the cottage. It is exceptionally clean, bright, airy, and comfortable. We were having our meals with our friend in Ennis, so we weren't cooking, but the kitchen is well-equipped with everything one would need, even tea-pots, a cafetière and an air-fryer. Plus, of-course, a smart tv. We also noticed a gas barbecue outside. There is central heating if needed. Home from home. The WiFi is top-class, very fast, and reliable. We're so glad to have stayed here and would thoroughly recommend it without any hesitation whatsoever. It is certainly value for money. Spotlessly clean and well worth the short drive from Ennis. The lovely owner, will send you the Eirecode beforehand, and this brings you right to the door. There is a well-stocked supermarket a few minutes drive away in Lissycasey village. A big thank you, Helen, for making our weekend so welcoming and enjoyable and we do hope to be back when visiting our old friend. Thank you!

Nothing whatsoever. The owner had spent time and effort getting everything right.

"Rural bliss, extreme comfort and hospitality."

9.0

Loved being in such a rural situation, lovely area to walk in. Super friendly, helpful hosts, beautifully decorated spacious and comfortable property.

Not a dislike, just a little inconvenient that you have to go through one bedroom to get to the other.

We had a very nice time. There is a lot to discover in the Kilrush area (along the Wild Atlantic Way). The accommodation has charm. "Holidays on a farm". Helen is super! Whatever you have on your mind, she has a solution.

"The most charming, cosy farm house"

10.0

Helen & Senan were the most thoughtful & generous hosts. There was a completely unexpected bottle of wine on the kitchen table when we arrived AND a packet of nice bikkies waiting near the kettle :) The chalet had all we could possibly need for our, all too short stay. Senan arrived soon after us & offered to light the peat fire. We'd never experienced a peat fire, so we readily agreed. The warmth emitted was fabulous! He came in to light it again on our second night too & Helen checked on us later & added some wood to the mix :) The beds were comfy, the shower had great pressure & lovely hot water. The kitchen was well equipped & we had a washing machine & a dryer. We were told to use the heating whenever we needed it. Only needed to do this first thing in the mornings. We couldn't have asked for a nicer time. We were made to feel so very welcome by our wonderfully kind & thoughtful hosts.

I don't think the profile photos do the farm house justice. It was far more cosy than the pics might suggest.

"Lovely little house deep in the Irish countryside."

8.0

Our priority in staying in this neighbourhood was to visit local attractions like the music festival in Ennis, but be close enough to Shannon Airport to be able to return our rental car and fly home. It is amazing to us as Americans that Ireland is so unspoiled that this house was indeed a country farmhouse, in a completely rural farming area—between two working animal farms—several little roads in from the highway, yet so close to a world-famous airport. To find it, you absolutely need a car, a GPS and acquaintance with the Irish method of denoting addresses by the Eircode, or postal code. When we found it, it was a lovely house, with the three separate bedrooms we three unrelated friends wanted (one of them must be reached through another one), a cozy living room and a large, luxurious kitchen. The hospitable hosts, Helen and Senan, came over to chat and give us wisdom for our next visit, to show us the central heating and to build and light a peat fire in the living-room stove for us each night, a real treat for us. We loved the gorgeous, hilly surroundings, and liked the flavour of the country we even got from watching local TV in the evenings with tea, with quirky unfamiliar game shows and the broadcast in full of a scholarly conference on Yeats. A lovely place and people with which and with whom to conclude our stay in Ireland.

House is a bit remote from the main highway and resources.
