Casa Ruffino - Wine Relais

Ilse was fantastic and was extremely accommodating from the jump helping us organise our restaurant and wine tour bookings for our stay. She also let us know of the lack of taxis in town and offered to help us book one a day in advance prior to departure. The staff (apologies we missed their names)were very attentive and friendly throughout our stay. Food was amazing, especially Tre Rane for dinner. The pools view of the vineyard, so good. Shoutouts to Ange for the informative winetour and Lorenzo who looked after us for both lunch and dinner.

a very comfortable and relaxing stay, great location for day trips. very comfortable bed and nice room, pool was wonderful. tip: go to the enoteca to get wine by the pool. highly recommend a night at the restaurant and the wine tour. truly beautiful property, top notch.

Nicely designed, very clean, beautiful interior & pool, nice location

- a few days after we booked they told us via email that we cannot come and I should clarify it with booking.com - since it was a non-refundable booking and already the money was charged from my credit card, i complained and then we were allowed to stay (??) - there was NO tour that we could join (everything booked - so we were not able to experience anything of the vineyard at all) - they charged us for a wine tasting even though we didnt do one. I noticed it only after paying the full bill (because usually you sign for add-ons booked). It took around 20min to revise that mistake and they offered us wine instead of the money (why would I take it when I never even tasted the wine?) - the restaurant was not good value for money and food could be improved. The vegetarian main dish was disappointing - hummus with cold vegetable… Also i‘d expect warmed-up plates for that price category. Service was great, though! - breakfast was ok, but compared with the one of other stays in tuscany in similar or lower price category, it could be improved (selection of bread, selection of cereals, better communication of additional orderinga that are possible, service for hot drinks)

Served mainly only wine alcoholic beverage. No opportunity to buy a cold beer, would have been nice to purchase a specialist beer brewed in the local area of Tuscany. Cocktails mediocre Costs of food and alcohol high price point. Portion of food served at dinner small.

The wine tour was lovely and shouldn't be missed, and the views around the facilities were unbeatable.

If you don't have a car it may not be the best expereince such as ours. We were very excited to leave the property and do something else. Taxi to and from Florence was about $60 each way. If you have a car and want to drive around tuscany i think it would be nice as a base.
