Cathedral View - An Exclusive Private Apartment on Cathedral Green, Exeter

Proximity to everything

We arrived at 9pm & directions were poor to the accommodation. GPS location co-ordinates were also incorrect. The building was covered by builders hoarding and we were provided an incorrect street number & no toilet paper on arrival.

The apartment was gorgeous. Very modern and well equipped. Great central location.

The best thing about this apartment is the location; it literally has a cathedral view and it is spectacular. The apartment is awesome and has all modern fittings including a washer/dryer for laundry which was why I decided to rent here.

Discarding rubbish was really grim, but otherwise this facility was great!

Supreme location! Fantastic view. Comfortable furnishings. Adequately appointed with appliances and linens for our 3 day stay.

MINOR details! We experienced some difficulty in learning how to operate the decorative fireplace as well as the TV. We resolved the TV but found ourselves unable to use the fireplace. A phone call to Fresh Escape would have quickly resolved the issue for us as they were responsive to any concerns we had.

Lovely spacious apartment and beautifully appointed. Spotlessly clean and well kept. Amazing view right onto the Cathedral and it’s Square. Easy walk to station and the great Quay waterfront along the river. A couple of minutes walk from the Guildhall shops and Sainsburys.

The accommodation manual needs to be rewritten and updated. There was no information about the TV and the instruction manuals for the other appliances were concealed under trays in a kitchen drawer. The managers constantly email to ask if you’re happy but then push back if you have queries. We had no shower gel (all travellers have their own apparently!!) and this isn’t supplied due to environmental reasons yet there is handwash in the kitchen and bathroom and other cleaners which were very unenvironmental. Not to supply shower gel seemed inexplicably petty. Our impression was that Fresh Escapes don’t often actually inspect the properties regularly to see what can improve to assist the traveller. just manage from afar and if you question anything, you’re the one that’s at fault. Not enough cutlery to benefit from a dishwasher and blunt cutting knives. Choc chip cookies ( which we didn’t eat) but no cooking oil. Also note there is a group of rough sleepers living in the Square who appear to be spaced out a lot of the time and sometimes could be abusive.

check in 4pm is too late and check out and 10am is too early
