3 bedroom house in central Birmingham

Very close to the centre and near the Utillia, which was the reason for our visit. Just a 5 minute walk to Tram for easy access around the city.

The area. It felt like we were in TV show Shameless. We didn't feel safe on arrival. One of the group wanted to leave immediately. But on inspection of the house (I would class it as a flat) he decided to stay.

The location was close to the facilities I needed, the bed was comfortable, and all ground floor which made accessibility for my disability much easier—access to parking.

I find lock boxes difficult to get in due to grip, but fully understand why they are needed. Shower clean but mildew in places, the radiator a bit grubby, but nothing a good clean-up could not sort, it did not affect the stay. The heating dial was hanging off the wall, so was nervous to touch it, also in a foreign language, so would not of been sure how to use it, we just wrapped up warm.

It was really close to central Birmingham - so everything was just a short walk away. The host was very responsive to questions/queries.

Being asked to pay an additional deposit after I had booked and fully paid (by bank transfer) and then the faff of waiting for this to be returned and having to give out bank details afterwards. We didn't really like the area - broken glass all over the parking area, people smoking drugs in the street, it didn't feel all that safe. The house could do with a bit of attention - there was mould in the bathroom, the silicone needed replacing in the shower, a lick of paint around the place would be good - the cleanliness of some of the utensils/glasses. The view from the windows wasn't great - from the bedroom there was a small concrete garden with some kids bikes and the front was the parking area. I had to chase up for details on what to do on arrival and where to find the parking permits. There was no information booklet about the property or local area (ie the basics - what to do with rubbish etc, how to us the equipment), no other literature/leaflets or games etc available for use, which we have always found in properties we've stayed in.

Location

The flat is very dirty. There are spider webs everywhere. There are rusts and the facilities are poorly maintained. Bed sheets and covers were not fresh. It seemed that they were not washed or very old. I really don't blame the owner. BUT I LOST CONFIDENCE IN BOOKING.COM. When I used to use booking before, I knew I was dealing with business or a company, not individuals.

Location and how close it was to the Birmingham central. More spaces for extra guest if needed.
