"A dairy for the diary."

10.0

It had everything we needed for our stay. It was bright and cosy for the relaxation we needed. It was close enough to get to national trust sites. They had put together a book if local walks.

Their farm dogs barked from time to time when one was outside the property.

Nice property, good location.

Although we were aware of it in advance, the lack of a shower is not ideal as we were on a cycling holiday. The addition of a shower would really make a difference.

"We had a lovely few days and the weather just made it. Great location and good value for money"

7.0

Location was very good, very peaceful place to be. Lovely to see the horses, ducks, geese, chickens and peacock roaming around. Ideal place for getting away from it all for a few days

The main downside was that there was no shower, just a bath. If we had read through the comments beforehand we would've known this. We coped for a few days but hair-washing would have been a problem if we had stayed longer.

"Exceptional and great experience"

10.0

I personally and our whole family were absolutely delighted and satisfied with our stay here. We enjoyed all aspects of this place: really cosy cottage, lovely atmosphere inside and out, charming farm, exceptional scenery all around! It was great and relaxing to stay here. We're looking forward to returning soon.

The kitchen is really well stocked. But there were not too many sharp knives. It's not really a big problem, but it would be nice to have some sharp ones.

"Disgusted, other dog friendly properties on other booking sites in area MUCH better!"

2.0

The property itself was quite attractive and spacious. The kitchen was modern and parking outside was good to have as well as the little patio to the side was a cute place to sit

The property was listed as dog friendly but there was no enclosed outdoor area around the property and the dogs were not allowed on the furniture, I had to take them into the bedroom at night to ensure they slept on the floor and not the sofas and I do not have my dogs in the bedroom at home, so it was not relaxing for me at night. Also the main road out of the property to access walks was past a horse exercising ring and I was asked not to walk my dogs past when they were working a horse! Both my dogs were on leads as requested by the property and I couldn't take them into the property as the housekeeper was still inside despite it being my check-in time. There was a half eaten packet of biscuits in the biscuit tin (who knows how old) The sugar was dirty and full of lumps, there was only one flimsy tea towel in the kitchen, the salt and pepper grinders in the kitchen were empty. There was no cheese grater (used the potato peeler to thinly slice cheese for my pasta dish), there was also no tin opener!!! The stairs were a little grubby, mirror and cupboards were dirty and smeary, a number of spotlights were out and the fire blanket was hidden in the depths of the under stairs cupboard rather then being prominently displayed in the kitchen. One fire extinguisher looked archaic, there were cables hanging from the ceiling. There was no information on the surrounding area (closest shops, pubs etc.) only local walks and a card left on the dining table with wifi info and a request to leave for future guests. No kitchen roll on the holder and no extra bin bags (should we require these). The door to the patio area didn't open either. I have read the property response and I would advise you there is ONE peeler and NO tin opener, I looked everywhere. Yes I did know it had no enclosed area and I am not asking for this.
