The Beach Suite at The Mactan Newtown

I like that it was in an uptown community with beach access that was to die for.

Nothing. Actually it's a bit far from Cebu Main City thus you may need to pay taxi to go to the usual places you may wish to visit in Cebu, i.e.. Sto Nino Church, Magellans Cross, La fortuna Bakery, the Tabuan for the dried fish. But, if you wish for a healthy, happy beachfront staycation. This place is GRRREAT!

Location. Accessible to a lot of convenience amenities.

We have to switch to another room as the first one given was in poor condition. Water was next to nothing. The second move was fair for the money. Most of the suites however were not really equipped for an extended stay. No coffee maker, not enough kitchen wares, no tea towels. These are the things needed if the stay is longer, especially for the monies being paid.

All was in place and organized. In general it was comfortable and convenient to our places of interest.

Construction apt next door really noisy, gonna last for 2 more months between 9 to 5 pm or longer,

The apartment was filled with all the little things you may have forgotten such as Q-tips and cotton face pads. There was ice cream in the freezer and crackers and snacks to tide me over until I could get to the store. Basic spices were available for cooking which was great so I didn't have to purchase them for two days use. The owner was easy to communicate with as well.

There should be drinking water available when arriving at the apartment, at least one bottle per guest. After a long day of travel, having to stop and find water at a shop isn't the first thing someone wants to do. Also, there aren't clear instructions on getting to the beach or the beach passes. I was told to get them from reception when checking in, however the man who checked me in refused and said he would just call the guard. I don't fault the owners for this, however this should be addressed.

The unit was clean but the one managing this unit was very stressful to talk to

The one managing this unit was very sarcastic to talk to. Had an exchange of messages regarding their collection of pet fee after our stay when in the first place, it says right here on the app that, "Pets are allowed. No hidden charges." Even emailed them prior to my booking to confirm and not a single talk of the aforementioned pet fee. There's plenty of chances from them to inform us during or prior to our stay. We even made sure the unit was clean, our pet doesn't even pee or poop inside so I don't know the basis of this pet fee. If there is a pet fee stated in the beginning, I can respect that but to ask for these fees outside the booking app transaction and just after our stay is just exploitation! Beware if you have pets–there's hidden charges that they can ask from you. The one I had correspondence with was very untruthful and unprofessional to talk to.
