Clearwater 17th Century Cottage

Location, character, quiet and quaint. Comfortable. Nice welcome wine and chocolate, and a few helpful necessities in cupboard. We liked the neighbours we met too.

Not as clean as it could be. Washing machine not working, Carbon monoxide alarm needed batteries, smoke alarm in kitchen beeping overnight. No adequate dining facilities, but we were happy to eat on our laps .

Very nice cottage good location quiet village sofas were so comfortable.

No washing machine as advertised as we were traveling so wash clothes on the go and this was reported by another guest in July so false advertising, beds to hard so ended up leaving a day early and booked alternative accommodation unable to open bathroom window to let steam out, no key.

Fabulous location was helped by beautiful weather. Sitting in the small private garden by the river, watching the birds taking a bath was very relaxing. The cottage is really well equipped, beds are comfortable and the spa bath was an unexpected bonus. Pub in the village was very busy, but the food was good and reasonably priced.

The cottage could definitely do with a deep clean. I appreciate that older buildings are difficult to keep dust free, but there were a lot of cobwebs, skirtings and mirrors were dirty and the windows needed a scrub. However, I went to relax and didn't care about the dust; just happy I had no phone signal!

The setting of the cottage was amazing with the beck at the bottom of the garden. We were sat at the edge of the beck, whilst in the sun, watching the birds and minnows go by. The cottage itself was lovely with everything provided as promised. We travelled most days to the likes of Richmond, York, Croft and other nearby villages/towns. We all thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would definitely go back again.

This isn't so much a dislike but we parked in what we thought was an acceptable space behind the property, only for a neighbour to kindly ask us to move our car along a few spaces. Other than that, brilliant.

Quaint old cottage (refurbished to modern standards without losing its charm) in a very pleasant location, quiet, situated in a picturesque village alongside a stream flanked by village greens and historic properties, neighbours a bit close but not a problem. Very nice pub (free house) only a short walk across the village green. Good WiFi and Internet connection.

No kitchen/dining table to eat at and could not sit at kitchen counter area because wall cupboards are too low, ended up eating off lap in lounge. Sleeps four, but only two patio chairs if you want to sit outside.
