Private Joglo in heart of Sanur

The privacy: the house has its own entrance. The garden and pool are very well maintained. The staff is very kind and available. The 2 dogs are shy ☺️ The area is also good with some restaurants, supermarket, laundry services and the beach is 20 minutes walk away. The house is equipped with a small kitchen and water fountain which is very practical. So nice to open the curtains in the morning to a beautiful green garden.

The house may need some sound-proofing for the city, the noise at night (dogs, traffic) can be annoying.

Freundlicher Betreiber hat sich vor Anreise bereits gemeldet und Details geklärt. Wir sind am Abend vor Nyepi, dem Tag der Stille, angereist und wurden auf diese Besonderheit hingewiesen. Interessante Anlage mit eigenem Gartenbereich und Zugangstor für jede Villa. Vollständige Rückerstattung erhalten nach einigen Tagen, da wir bei Anreise diverse Mängel festgestellt haben und wo anders eingezogen sind. Bei Abreise hatten wir zwar noch keine Zusage dazu, später aber das Geld auf dem Konto.

Villa deutlich in die Jahre gekommen und schlecht gereinigt. Wir sind nach 30 min Begutachtung abgereist und nebenan in einer anderen Unterkunft eingezogen. Vor der Abreise wurde uns noch gesagt, dass das halt eine traditionelle Balinesische Villa sei und so normal wäre. Seit dem buchen wir nur noch westliche Anlagen mit Steinmauern. Bereits beim ersten Betreten schlug uns eine warm-feuchte Luft mit modrigem Geruch entgegen. Im oberen Stockwerk wurde es noch schlimmer. Die Klimaanlage roch beim einschalten auch enorm nach Schimmel und ist deutlich schwarz verfärbt. Die Kopfkissen sind verschimmelt, Matratze riecht ebenso und auf dem Laken lagen tote Insekten. Fast alles ist aus Holz mit Klarlack oder ohne Behandlung. Oberflächlich hatte fast alles matten Belag, im besten Fall Staub, ich vermute allerdings eher Schimmel. Oberflächen werden also grundsätzlich nicht geputzt. Das Bad ist eher provisorisch und einfach, Duscharmatur hin auf halb acht, Fugen offen, unebener Boden, dreckige Toilette. Um das zu überdecken lagen mehrere Duftsteine rum, die ich sonst nur im Urinal sehe. Der Geruch war unerträglich.

This was my second stay at little double story wooden house, and I plan to return back again in 3-4 month for more Bali holidays. I love love love this private peace of paradise- garden with little squirrels and birds, the amassing sparkly clean swimming pool, comfy bed with strong aircon in bedroom and fully equipped little kitchen - as I love cook for myself. The beach is only short walk away, as well as produce market and big shopping mall. This is my home away from home. Can not wait to go back

Nothing, everything is great

- David (Swedish) is a great host, always helpful, and a valuable resource for local information and communication (scarily fluent in Indonesian - passes for a local on the phone). - The staff has limited English, but are friendly and helpful and acommodating. - The dogs, Miyuki and Ruku, are sweet and a regular source of entertainment, once they do their job and decide you are friend and not foe. - The Joglo (villa #2) we stayed in had a lovely private garden, carefully maintained and full of fruit trees and flowering plants. There was a nice shaded sitting area we used often to relax, play games, etc. - Inside was comfortable but not luxurious; there was plenty of room to spread out (2 bedrooms, a living room with a desk/office area, kitchen, bath and utility room with a washing machine. Be aware this is NOT a hotel and does not provide breakfast or daily cleaning service. You will be provided with the basics, such as cooking gas, drinking water, toilet paper, towels and linens, and of course kitchen supplies for cooking and serving. - The shared pool is lovely and where we spent a lot of time, also surrounded by lush Bali vegetation, trimmed back to allow for plenty of sun. - Location is not on the beach, it's a 15 minute walk to Icon Mall, shops and restaurants in the tourist area. The address is easy to find for local deliveries and Grab/GoJek. - The area is a mixture of locals and longer term villas, which means better prices at restaurants, (plenty of excellent restaurants in the neighborhood, easy walking distance) laundry service and mini marts. That also means a lot of daily life noise, scooters and school kids and dogs. The noise starts early, so we recommend ear plugs for a good night's sleep (which were provided LOL).

David the owner was great, very easy to talk to we had a nice conversation by the pool. The Joglo was exactly as described as well as the pool. The gardens are beautiful and the pool is nice. The private entrance is great. The communication between owner about instructions and details of joglo was perfect.

The steps inside are steep so be careful walking down at night not an issue for us but maybe not great for all so would recommend the 2 bedroom villa. ( we got to look at and they are so nice. Distance to beach was a bit further then I thought it would be but we like walking it's about 20 min walk.

A nice, clean, and cozy little house in Sanur 🏡 Everything reachable within walking distance. Loved that there is a garden (well-maintained) that keeps the microclimate fresh and cooler on the hot days and even provides a taste of freshly picked fruits 🥭 :) Additionally, in the common area - a perfect swimming pool. And the host - very friendly and supportive, enjoyed the conversations we had. Very happy we stayed here in Sanur :) Makasi 🙏🏼
