Juliana's unique Townhouse by Vallettastay

Uniqueness and character Location was just the best. Interesting concept with one room each floor Loved the views from the terrace Kitchen well supplied. Bed was good Not so noisy for a central position. Spacious Instructions were good with easy access to the building.

There was building renovations next door and across the road. I was woken up at 6am every day by the builders. There are a lot of stairs in the apartment.

The location is perfect for sightseeing and excursions, in the heart of Valletta/oldtown. We came for the Valetta fireworks festival, just perfect. (But you have to be aware that this also means a lot of ambient noise: street noise, construction noise all around, party noise, church bells. For us, however, this was bearable even without earplugs.) It is an original historic townhouse with typical Maltese balconies and a roof terrace with a fantastic view, which is something very special for us, much nicer than a concrete high-rise in another area. Each room is on a different level, meaning at least 58 curved steps up and down, and even more to the roof terrace. Therefore, good, non-slip bathing shoes for the house are recommended. The house is really big, with plenty of space to relax. There are also two toilets, which is great to always have one nearby. The bedroom is on the third floor, and the mattress was unfortunately a bit soft and less comfortable for us. However, there's both a bathtub and a shower, which is fantastic! Last but not least: a huge compliment to the Valettastay office! The communication and guest service are simply fantastic. Answers to any written question were truly immediate, and when we actually had a little problem with the door lock, it was fixed immediately. Such a customer-friendly, professional, kind and lovely team! Thank you so much, especially to Jelena and all her colleagues!

The mattress was a bit soft. Otherwise, everything was great!

It was quite an experience to stay at this unique townhouse. If you can't do stairs, you really shouldn't go there. Bring ear plugs for a good night's sleep. The bed slept great and the place was very clean. They provided a washer and dryer. All kitchen equipment that you would need for your stay The cookie that was traditional for Malta was very delicious with a cup of tea or coffee. So good. We had to go to the store and buy more. The little store was very close to our place. The owners of this townhouse where more than anyone could have expected. They offered to get a taxi for us to go to the airport simply because they sent a maintenance man to work on the air conditioner in our bedroom. How amazing is that!

The house is impressively spacious, though its five-story layout may present a challenge for some guests. With its numerous steps, it has the feel of a small castle, which adds to its unique charm. The location is excellent, providing easy access to Valletta’s main attractions. The property was exceptionally clean, though the entrance and living room had a slightly musty scent, while the kitchen and bedroom remained fresh. Although we did not cook during our stay, the kitchen was well-equipped, and the thoughtful addition of a large bottle of water in the fridge was appreciated. The staircases are generally wide and manageable, but the steps leading to the roof terrace are quite narrow, making it somewhat difficult to carry drinks or other items upstairs.

The bedroom lacks adequate soundproofing from the road, allowing noise to be quite noticeable. While the traditional window shutters add to the room’s charm, they provide minimal insulation against sounds from pedestrians, traffic, church bells, and construction work nearby. On particularly windy nights, the noise levels can be even greater. For a more comfortable stay, you may wish to bring earplugs or use noise-canceling headphones to ensure a restful night’s sleep.

The view from the rooftop terrace is amazing. There is a supermarket nearby, which was convenient.

The air conditioning in the bedroom was broken during our stay, so it was cold at night. There was no problem going up and down the stairs, but some parts are worn and you need to be careful not to slip.

We had a brilliant time. A beautifully maintained old world charmer of a place. No faff from the hosts - everything was made to be so easy and straightforward. We will definitely go back.

Character , unique, spacious, excellent location right in the heart of Valletta old town. Very comfortable and had all that we needed for a great stay
