Juliana's unique Townhouse by Vallettastay

The house is wonderful. Very liveable and cozy. Perfectly located. The only one big supermarket in the old Valetta iS just at the corner and money exchange ( if needed) too. The area is vibrant and perfect to stay for vacation or to live in. The rooftop has a perfect view 👌 but there were 2 problems. There's no lighting enough to have a dinner with the view at the evening and there were no shadow ( big umbrellas?) to use this place for breakfast. The kitchen is fully equipped end very cozy( like at home).

There were no air-conditioning on all the rooms except bedroom. When it +30 it feels awful especially when the building full of stairs. I mean each room on a separate floor. It's a huge disadvantage in summer and I think in winter too. It's actually surprised me a little that in such huge space there's only one sleeping place. But if some one In a group snoring for example?

Lovely unique traditional house, spread over 3 floors. It was spacious and had a roof terrace. We loved it. The central location was perfect for us. Facilities were all fine.

Nothing not to like though I could imagine some might find the stairs a bit challenging (if taking luggage up to the bedroom). I left my heavy suitcase on the first floor.

Very central, interesting charming place

Very noisy location, parties etc nearby through to 3/4 am, single glazing windows fit poorly so it feels like you are living in the street. Stairs are v steep. Air con is only in the bedroom so lounge and dinng area can be very hot. Had to use ear plugs.

At first glance this old fashioned townhouse, with a medieval flare, is at least mesmerising! Each step, each wall, each wooden door and furniture takes you back in time! Fully equipped with 2 toilets, a bath and a shower, even a small washroom with a washing machine and dryer. The kitchen also comes with all the basics that lets you enjoy a home cooked meal if you choose to make one. It is clear that someone spends time thinking of the details that provide guests with comfort and ease, whether it be a socket adaptor, some salt & pepper or ice. If you can not appreciate the authentic details inside, you will most definitely appreciate the majestic view up on the terrace. A lovely sea view and full front of the 3 cities across from Valetta. You may even see a few enormous cruise ships making their way threw this grand harbour.

Authenticity doesn't come without a cost and this is usually comfort. This townhouse, however mesmerising, is spread over 3 floors, plus steps to the terrace. As you make your way upstairs, each staircase becomes more slippery with the one leading to the terrace also being the most narrow one I have ever seen in my life! Being 180cm tall and 88kg walking up to the terrace was quite challenging. Which means this townhouse is mostly for slim/smaller people and those who are willing to risk slipping off a step or two! The wifi is not accessible in the bedroom (3rd floor) which is also the only room with A/C. Which would be ok, except that the lowest temperature it got to during most of our stay was 27 degrees, so you still feel warm throughout the night. The street noise was not too bad but if you are a light sleeper it may be a problem. The church bell rings at 7:45 each morning. Lastly, the covers of the couch and 2 small sofas need a good wash (it seems they were once white) and the lighting is not enough for the tall floors, especially in the kitchen. Maybe it is worth using higher voltage bulbs.

SUPERB view from the roof (see photo). Spacious and clean. Full of character. Comfortable bed. Lots of extras, e.g. tea. coffee, sugar, shampoo and soap, a couple of Maltese Honey Rings (see photos), bottle of water in fridge, salt, pepper, oil, pepper mill, washing up liquid, even a first aid kit. Very close to bars and restaurants but the view from the roof was so good we ate there every night. There's a wooden table and two chairs on the roof, plus extra plastic chairs, a drying rack and pegs and a barbecue. There is a parasol but it didn't fit the stand. Their is a food hall just a couple of minutes walk away that sells everything you need.

Stone stairs connecting the floors are worn and uneven and spiral staircase to roof very narrow and uneven with no handrail. This adds to the charm but would be difficult if you are infirm. Carrying food and drinks up to the roof is difficult and even harder coming down - depending on what was in the drinks! Noisy street and Church bells at 7.45am each morning but we came prepared with ear plugs. There is only AC in the bedroom. There was an electric fan in the kitchen but it didn't work so I swapped it with the fan in the lounge as we didn't use the lounge. The three piece suite covers could do with a wash but we didn't use it.

Great location, very spacious, really enjoyed terrace area, fabulous views across the harbour.

There wasn't anything I didn't like, I thought it was great. There are quite a lot of steps connecting all 3 levels and the steps accessing the terrace are tight. Not ideal if anyone has a mobility issue.

It was a much bigger space than we expected. The terrace was amazing. We had coffee there few times and enjoyed the view. Bed was comfortable. We didn't use the kitchen, we ate outside. There wasn't so much noise as people in comments say. Usual sounds of city life anywhere in the world. We also asked to check out one hour later and they let us stay longer without additional charge.

Water pressure was a bit low but I understood it was like that everywhere in Valletta.

Central location. Roof terrace excellent. Kitchen well equipped.

Noise! From 5.30am - traffic, local workmen and of course, the bells! Pub opposite very loud until midnight.

Great atmosphere, keeping the amazing feel of ancient times. Stone walls, stone stairways, wooden doors with iron lockers, high ceilings. But yet, all modern facilities were available - stoves, micro-oven, dishwasher and everything. The open terrace on the roof offers a view to the see. Great neighborhood - many small restaurants and cafes, jewelry stores great street food. All interesting historical spots are at a walking distance. Absolutely great.
