East Lodge - Chillingham Castle

We loved the fact that we were in our very own mini castle,just us and the wild life,and central to where we were visiting. And my 92 year old mum absolutely loved it, For her it was special. Thank you X

We didn't have anything to complain about ,we new where we were going ,and what to expect,

The Lodge is a very special place. We thought it looked a gem in the pictures. When we arrived it exceeded even our expectations. A beautiful and compact octagonal building, it is wonderfully adapted inside. It feels cosy and is so peaceful and surprisingly specious . The facilities are excellent. The beds are so comfortable and there is a great shower. Everything one needs is provided. The location is exceptional as it is set in.an area surrounded by beautiful scenery. Castles, including its. own, and great walks . It is ao close to some glorious beaches Max the host was very helpful and informatve. Any queries we had were dealt with. Immediately The Lodge is an amazing place and we will recommend it to all our friends as a glorious place to stay.

Fantastic location, quirky and special. Well equipped, comfy bed with gorgeous duvet. Amazing shower. Lots of logs for fire. Beautifully decorated with interesting pictures and touches, not too much. Walking distance to Chillingham castle which is possibly best castle we have ever visited to spend a lot of time in…so interesting and beautifully restored. The cattle visit (also easy 2 minute walk) is inspiring.

Nothing at all…this is a special place and so pleased we found it.

Great mix of historical feel and modern amenities. Beautiful grounds, stone throw away from fascinating Chillingham Castle and the Chillingham Wild Cattle Park. Very comfortable heated beds, modern shower and kitchen. Quiet and peaceful. Located within 20-30 mins of places of interest, and amazing beaches.

The location is truly wonderful. Set in the grounds of the castle and surrounded by woods. A stream runs down the bottom of the garden and your are next too a small church. The lodge is very comfortable with a super fire, and the beds are brilliant too. And its so quiet which is just perfect

The host wasnt the greatest. We needed a couple of things and he basically said he didnt know, and got the cleaning person to come back to us. The cooker in the kitchen is the worst I have used. We had to download a user guide to just switch it on. While you are in the shower, the bathroom light would switch off as its sensor based and being in the shower it doesnt detect you. Minor but the pricing for the lodge is premium so you wouldnt expect these things. We also had to strip the bed when we left. Again, for the amount paid I dont think this should be required, as we also cleaned the premises top to bottom. My wife asked a couple of questions from the host who didnt really listen and gave an answer which was unrelated. It didnt feel he as very interested.

Beautiful setting in a castle lodge next to a lovely norman church. Comfortable beds and luxurious duvets. Plenty warm enough with fire lit. Shower hot and plentiful. Great place to visit all the sights and beaches in Northumberland.

All good.

The accommodation was beautiful, unique and special. It was a proper romantic getaway.
