Bay view rooms at Mentone Hotel

Friendly and helpful staff. Nice touch to have a complimentary breakfast. Room great for our purpose and very clean.

It was very near the city centre which I was pleased about as it was Winter and most things were closed and it was too cold and windy for the beach of course. For most anyway I expect! Prices very reasonable then too. The room was like a little kitchen with lots of tea and coffee and cutlery and the bread and toaster were welcomed very much when I just wanted a little snack at night or for breakfast. A good sized room and clean.

I found the main light a little dim and the lamps a bit too glaring so had to switch the lamps off. That was all.

I had stayed here before at the beginning of the year but had a family room. This time I had a single room. It was easy to check in - just had to go to Nicks restaurant below the rooms and the staff give you your key. The room itself was lovely and warm, great views of the sea and pier. It was clean and tidy with plenty of tea, coffee, sugars and milk which is always important to me when I stay anywhere. Television had plenty of channels to choose from. Nice to have a full length mirror which I find is rare these days.

It took quite a while for the hot water to come through when showering. The room could do with a small clothing rail to hang things up and maybe a small table and chair to be able to eat at instead of having to sit on the bed. The room included continental breakfast but it was a miniature box of rice crispies, a pain au chocolat and lots of jams and marmalades - not sure why there were so many preserves as there was nothing to have them with. The walls between rooms were quite thin as was woken early by someone vomiting a lot.

Well appointed room, terrific shower,warm.

Tv was problematic. Lighting was dim.

Location excellent and the room was well equipped for a continental breakfast.

Only just an adequate amount of heating on when we arrived but no heating on at all the follow morning. No WiFi accessible at all during our stay. I messaged booking.com but had no reply when I mentioned these two problems. Very disappointing as the room and location were good.
