"Lovely"

Proximity to city centre

The toilet flush is a little faulty. Everything else is excellent especially the host who I had to ring at 9AM.

"Would happily return"

8.0

Good location to give you access to Birmingham City Centre. You are roughly 10 minutes walk away from Art Gallery, Library etc. It would be a good base for Symphony Hall and Utilita venue. The apartment is spacious and has a nice calm feel. Comfy sofa and arm chair. Good TV signal and WiFi throughout. We found it quiet here during our 3 nights. We didn't notice a smell(weed) It was clean with nice towels provided. Good shower (over bath) Plenty of storage space in the bedroom (although a small bedside table would a bonus) Double bed was comfortable. Heating in the main room worked well. I assume there is an issue with the bedroom one, but a spare heater was provided and this also worked well. Other reviews mentioned the traffic, but be fair it is a busy city and is mostly a gentle droning noise in the background so not an issue for us. We visited the Pen Museum (8 minutes walk away) and the Art Gallery. Lots of other options available. It's also nice just to wander around looking at the mix of old and modern buildings in an area that is being regenerated. Close to Bullring if you want a shopping spree. The secure underground parking was a big factor in my booking choice. We were guided to the allocated spot. We had a lovely meal at the "Lost & Found" on Bennet's Hill, plenty of choice for eating out (although I do prefer to cook in the apartment) Tesco Metro across the road and a Coop a little further down for extra supplies if needed.

A few more pieces of equipment in the kitchen would make it more service user friendly. No can opener, so our first evening meal relied upon the ring pull cans I had bought with me. I would prefer a toaster (to a grill in the oven) and would suggest a washing up bowl. There was no plug for the sink, so a lot of water wasted. There is a dishwasher available (no tablets provided) but I am not a fan of these Would also suggest a short welcome brochure/information sheet. Wales has a much higher recycling rate and with no instructions re recycling wasn't sure what the system was . No food waste bin (we took home what we could) Taxi numbers (if you are not able to walk up to Taxi ranks) and oven instructions (we googled it though) The above are all very minor issues and would not be an issue to most people.

"It seems that the apartment is run on a shoestring, a few improvements would make a big difference."

4.0

The bed was very comfortable.

The flat is in need of TLC. The toilet flush was detached from the wall, the toilet mirror light didn't work, there was no toaster in the kitchen. There was twice a problem with the key fob for the garage, in fairness quickly rectified by the landlord.
