The Pheasantry - guest house in beautiful rural location

Cannot fault this property, everything was as expected, couldn't ask for any more.

I can't think of anything that I didn't like in the property,

very private and rural. nicely appointed and exceptionally well equipped. generously and thoughtfully provisioned in the bathroom and kitchen. Christmas decorations were a cheerful addition and counter to the depressing winter weather.

Thé main gate regularly shutting in the wind necessitating manual opening in very muddy flooded conditions was irritating. the stairs were very steep and there was no lighting or safety banister for access to the bathroom during the night. The Coombed ceilings made for a couple of sore heads for my husband; particularly around the bed and clothes storage areas. I would recommend a rubber shower mat as the shower floor is very slippy and there is quite a big step down to the tile floor. We couldn’t find a brush and pan; and were conscious of bringing in muddy, wet feet and more into the apartment. the hoover did not reach the lower steps!

Very helpful information regarding how to check in, consideration for dietary requirements, friendly and welcoming communication and fantastic comfortable accommodation and facilities.

Beautifuly positioned in a quiet country side, the whole experience was really lovely and the room was well equipped with lovely welcoming basket and very cosy. Very clean also. Would definitely stay again .

Honestly I could not rate this property enough. Lauren is just the most wonderful host; we had unexpected changes with our son needing to stay too and she helped us with an extra bed very last minute. The welcome basket is amazing! An offering we definitely weren’t expecting but made good use of ☺️ The apartment was well stocked and absolutely spotless! Very baby friendly with a cot and highchair and even a little baby towel for our daughter provided which was very much appreciated. Lauren and Jamie have been great every time we stay for recommendations in the local area, keeping us informed of anything nearby (e.g. fireworks) and any help we’ve needed at all. They really do go the extra mile and that’s makes such a difference. Thank you so much both, we will be coming to you as a first port of call for a long time to come!

There’s absolutely nothing to dislike. A wonderful stay each and every time.

The host helpfully has tea and coffee, and provides fresh milk and bread, Really handy since there are no nearby shops.

The apartment was very well stocked with appliances. There was cereal, bread and milk. It was warm and the bed comfortable.

On the first night there seemed to be rats above in the loft/eaves moving about all the time. The shower was a nightmare. The tooth mug was filthy. The fridge looked clean but on further inspection was not.
