The Cottages at Ivy Farm by Charles Alexander Short Stay

Lovely location, very quiet and relaxing. Great spacious layout, very clean, modern and well equipped. Fab garden, we were lucky enough to have no dogs next door, as the garden was huge but shared, our little chihuahuas adored the freedom.

It was very tricky to find as the Sat Nav doesn’t recognise the postcode and the sign is very small and located just after a bend in the road. The WiFi didn’t work for our stay, my autistic son really struggled but we managed to hook him up to my data so it worked out okay. There was a strange smell in one bedroom that could have possible been linked to the wet room drain and the bedroom carpet was damp in places. All reported and handled by a supportive member of staff. It didn’t spoil our stay, my son was very comfortable there and it takes an awful lot to please him!

Fantastic location, not far from Blackpoo, nice local pub 5 mins drive. Shop is close. The farmer is extremely friendly and let us take the grandson up to see the calves.. Would definitely stay again.

We hired 3 properties, 2 x 2 bed and i x 3 bed with hot tub. All were excellent, beds were comfy and facilities great. They were over and above what we expected and were pleasantly surprised at the size of each cottage. We were a party of 13, 8 adults and 5 children (17 years, 16 years, 16 years, 7 years and 4 years). We used the larger cottage as the main house for eating and socializing and there was plenty of room, which was a bonus. The area is very quiet and only a 20 minute drive to Lytham St Annes for beach.

We couldn't get hot water to a temperature for washing up in the kitchen of the 3 bed, can't comment on the others, so used the dishwasher quite a lot. The rest of the water in the house was fine. The hot tub was 40 degrees so a little hot for some of us and we had to leave the lid off to cool it down - it didn't have a temperature alteration button. One of the cottages was unable to log in to the WiFi. Having said all that, none of it affected our stay.

It has a very clean aspect about it in all the rooms. The garden was a bonus for the dogs.

There were a few teething problems with the internet, and heating to begin with. Also there were a couple of fence panels that were not installed in the garden.
