It’s not best practice to contact me 24 hours to check-in with the option of either cancelling my booking or going to a smaller place. There was a reason why I decided to book a bigger place. I didn’t even get the message until the night before check-in, it was extremely difficult and stressful to get another apartment within that short space of time. This is the reason for my very low rating of the property.

Very good value for money, we travelled as a group of students in town for a pool tournament, the cheap accommodation made the trip possible and its location near to Stoke and right around the corner from Dishers Pool Hall made it ideal. Basic ammenities but again, amazing value for money.

Front door could have used a mat to avoid tracking dirt everywhere but we ended up buying one anyway and the house has ~4 forks for somewhere that houses 10 people

Horrible smell in downstairs bathroom which is directly off lounge so couldn't sit in lounge as smelt like sewage. Sofas are not comfortable. There's no life to the property everything just painted white. Could do with fixing curtains. And large kitchen hut no basic cooking utensils.

The space was impressive, providing ample room to accommodate everyone comfortably. I also appreciated the convenient location, which was close to shops and the train station. This made it easy to access essentials and facilitated seamless arrival and departure.

My stay at this apartment did not meet expectations. The space showed signs of inadequate cleaning and maintenance, with visible mould in the bathroom, which was quite off-putting. Basic amenities like tissues and hand wash gels were not provided, and we even had to hoover and mop the floors upon arrival due to insufficient cleaning. The kitchen was also poorly stocked with essential utensils, making it challenging to prepare meals. Providing a better range of kitchen essentials and ensuring the apartment is thoroughly cleaned before guests arrive would significantly improve the experience. While the contact for the accommodation was helpful, communication was stressful as they did not always reply to messages promptly and were unreachable by phone calls. Unfortunately, the lack of attention to these details left me disappointed. I hope the management addresses these issues to provide a better experience for future guests.

The property was kept warm all through our stay. The property was close to shops and not far from Grand Junction retail park.

We had a really poor experience at Catherine House for 2 night stay in December. Accommodation is for 10 adults and not more (as stated on booking.com). Cobwebs/spiderwebs in the rooms and bathrooms, mouldy sinks in toilets, the shower and vent upstairs was infested with mould, very unhealthy and uncomfortable. The toilet/shower downstairs was very untidy and smelling of damp. There was no handwash in some of the toilets. There was hair from previous occupants in the bathroom and also on the bedspreads. Pillows not very comfortable. Kitchen was neatly kept (newly inbuilt kitchen), but there were limited plates and cutlery in the kitchen for the number of occupants house can accommodate. There were no beverages. Communications were a bit last minute to adjust booking that accommodated our needs with no parking on site. Really poor experience at this apartment. Parking is not specific in the area. Plan ahead if you are staying, depending on the number of vehicles. We eventually found a council parking close to the property.
