Prainha Resort By The Sea

Rooms were beautiful and clean. The resort is well positioned and has beautiful amneties.

I think it was a bit too expensive. But pther than that, really loved everything.

Located at Dona Paula, this resort is a very pretty and beautiful one with nice Portuguese villa type architecture with a private beach which was extremely convenient. One could have a sea view from most of the rooms and we had requested for one and the management kept the promise. The room was spacious with a balcony where one can sit and enjoy the sunset and the sea-view. The lawn with the trees and a small swimming pool went well with the surroundings. The restaurant had lots of choices and we had exquisite Goanese cuisines. The food was tasty and the staff always cordially advised us regarding the fresh catches of the day which helped us to choose our dishes. The breakfast was elaborate with some Goan specialities and also other Indian varieties. The rooms and the hotel were neat and tidy and lived upto our expectations with very good internet connections. The staff were very friendly and courteous. Overall a very satisfactory stay.

The only criticism I have for the kitchen is that they do not have a kids menu and since many of the dishes were on the spicier side (as expected for Goanese cuisines), the kids had a bit of a difficult time and had few choices to fall back upon. The cook may take note of that and my tips for other travellers : try to instruct the kitchen people to cook food with minimal spices for the kids. Sometimes that helped, but often it did not..

The best part about the stay was the location, Prainha - the little private beach was the feather on the cap. The staff are very courteous and friendly, they were exceptionally accommodating especially at the Beach Comber restaurant. The breakfast spread was good and hygienic, traveling from the US my concern was water and beverages as that is the main source of contamination but thankfully our group did not face any issues in that regard as the food was clean and hygienic. The property manager was also helpful, and helped arrange pick up from the airport (not complimentary, I paid for it) on request and also helped connect me with local drivers for local sightseeing. He also helped us move to a different room when some issues came up with one of our rooms.

Based on Bookings descriptions and prices, I had reserved three rooms for my party of 7. Two cottages and one sea facing room. I had reserved cottages that seemed to be on the ground level as I was traveling with senior citizens with walking and climbing difficulty. On arrival I found out that the cottages I had booked were under renovation. The cottages assigned to us had amazing views, but the rooms itself were old and required maintenance and were not at the ground level, the beds were too high for some of the seniors in my group and it didn't seem worth the money I had paid. Access to the rooms were not disabled friendly/accessible, had stairs. Access to the restaurant where the inclusive breakfast was served was also not very accessible. The third room only had a partial sea view as opposed to what I had booked. Mid way through our stay some issues came up with one of the rooms and the Manger shifted us to a different renovated room which I feel should have been assigned to us from the start). The twin cottages have a noise problem, you can hear people talking in the other room. It did not matter much when the twin cottages were occupied by our party first part of the stay but during the later part we were moved to a different room and the other cottage was still occupied by our party (because the Manager offered a different room for them that was on the first floor and so we decided not to move because climbing stairs was difficult for the senior in my group). The vacated twin cottage was occupied by new guests and they played very loud music all night that disturbed my party in the twin cottage and as a 85+ senior they had a hard time sleeping at night. On mentioning this the next day morning the management told me we should have informed them at night (I was not in that room and my senior did not know what to do at that late hour). It is very surprising to me that the hotel has no policy on keeping the environment pleasant for all guests.

The location is peaceful. Food is very good

The food, location and the privacy the rooms offered

The location was amazing, the staff were exceptional, the facilities were great, the food scrumptious and the views from the restaurant and garden cottages are to die for.

The price, I felt, is very steep compared to what you get. Esp. for standard rooms which offer no views and quiet small. And the view from our sea view room was blocked off with trees. The private beach was dirty with so much trash around.
