"Peaceful, romantic getaway in a historic yet modern barn ♡"

10.0

A perfect countryside escape! We had a lovely stay at Willow Barn. It's so cosy & charmful. The pillows were dreamy, and the powerful shower was just what we needed after a day out exploring. We loved stepping straight into the golden rapeseed fields for walks and enjoying morning coffee in the peaceful garden. We're so lucky to catch the blooming wisteria! The kitchenette made the stay extra comfortable, and the parking was a bonus. It’s a great base for exploring the beautiful towns of Lavenham, Long Melford, and Clare. The friendly, welcoming hosts made us feel right at home. Would love to come back and highly recommend it to couples looking for a relaxing Suffolk retreat!

My stay was too short.

"Cold, damp, dark and noisy"

1.0

The shower, when we had water.

It was cold, damp and extremely noisy. Right on the busy main road with no sound proofing, we only managed a couple of hours sleep a night, woken up at 6am with the traffic noise. After 2 nights, although we couldn't afford it we left and paid out for other accommodation. Heating and hot water only on twice a day, I had to wear my coat indoors most of the time. No water at all 1 day, we could not have a shower, go to the toilet or make a drink (apparently this is completely acceptable to David Burr the management company - I was even shouted at for returning to the property in the daytime; and also Booking.com). The welcome pack talked about a kitchen, there was none - a microwave and tiny fridge and only the bathroom basin to wash up in. There was a table to eat at but only 1 small chair between the two of us. After returning the first day we found the door ajar, with all our belongings inside and the fridge turned off, so every thing had gone off. Do not stay here!

"Overall was fine, as stated we"

7.0

Great location, very good spec for the facilities shown.

Partly our fault. We thought the description was a little misleading - it’s more of a studio set up than a barn, no real Kitchenette facilities - washing up in the bathroom sink etc.. and also no where to sit apart from the bed? Not ideal.

"Comfortable, quiet romantic retreat."

9.0

The bed and linens were very comfortable. The room was quiet. And it was well positioned for visiting the area.
