The Huts at Highside Farm

We loved the pods but….. the views were even better!!

We loved everything it………. Maybe a hot tub would be the icing on the cake!

The views were beautiful, the huts were a fun quirky part of our holiday. The children loved the novelty of the bunkbeds. The owners were really friendly and knowledgeable with local attractions.

Overall fantastic. Little dusty in places but to be expected with it being a clamping pod.

The hut was new, cosy, and very comfortable — perfectly equipped with everything we needed. The setting is peaceful and quiet, with an absolutely stunning view of the lake. It felt like a real escape. Also, it’s just a short drive to Keswick, so really convenient for exploring the area.

It was a lovely place to stay, it was amazing how it managed to fit all 5 of us comfortably in such a small space. Teas/coffees were provided with milk and water - luckily we'd done our own shop beforehand but had we not this would have been a necessity on arrival. This bit is not a reflection on our rating of the hut - sadly the weather was a little wet so we weren't able to use the outdoor firepit but it was fine which would have been nice to roast marshmallows/make smores, but we can't predict UK weather! Overall was a lovely first experience of the huts at the lakes.

The location of the hut being out in the sticks means making an online reservation for a restaurant can be challenging and a lot of nearby restaurants get reserved very quickly. The downside was that the water for showering was not hot it was just lukewarm - we followed the advice on keeping switches on etc for hot water and there was a hot towel rail which was a cab touch but the hot water issue probably needs looking into/fixing. One other bit I didn't like was that the sofa that turns into a double sofa bed was stained - definitely needs a steam clean!
