The Huts at Highside Farm

The view was amazing.

No problem but recommend a set of walk maps to be available as can get to lake overland in 2.2km.

Great location, peaceful, friendly interaction with family member.

We were having a lovely time so didn’t mention this but our water was not hot and the sheets were synthetic so caused as all to be super sweaty (nice I know) even though it was cold out. So just those two points to amend and otherwise was wonderful and would definitely stay again!!

Beautiful space and super tidy. Great location with gorgeous view. Provided great things like a football to kick around, barbecue stations and even wood for a fire to put in the fire pit!

We thought that there were 2 rooms - 2 bunks and double in one room then a sofa and 2 bunks in another - possibly entirely our fault for not understanding but maybe photos were perhaps a bit misleading

The huts themselves are lovely, clean, modern, well equipped, cosy. The bathroom was a great size. The check in and checkout was super easy and the location was just perfect. My children loved that there was a horse and sheep that tended to be in the field just in front of the huts; it made their stay. Great extras in the huts like chocolates and fresh milk on arrival. The bedding all smelt lovely and fresh. It’s clear that the owners really take pride in their establishment. Thank you for a lovely stay.

Although the pictures of the huts do show the three of them side by side, when you’re actually there is only when you realise just how close and in private they are. There’s no privacy at all when you’re outside in your seating / fire pit area, it’s kind of like being at a pub and people are sat at their own tables. It didn’t bother us greatly, as the huts themselves, and the scenery was so lovely, but it would be nice to have more privacy so we wouldn’t stay again for that reason. Also, the very steep incline up to the little car park near the huts is concerning when the underneath of your car is getting scraped going down.
