Cozy Historic Family Home in the Heart of Richmond

The location was much busier traffic noise wise than expected but in no way was the fault of the Host.

A lot of attention clearly went into making this an attractive, accommodating rental. The house was spacious, light, comfortable and tastefully decorated. It had a good lay-out. The interior was immaculate. We appreciated touches like plenty of coffee pods and a variety of sugars/sweeteners, a hairdryer, iron/ironing board and nice extra throws for warmth. The beds were really comfy and the extra pillows welcome. There were plenty of electrical outlets. We also really liked having three TVs with generous programming. I especially liked having the proper curtains for blocking street lights. The home's outside security system was a plus. The location was the perfect compromise for the variety of activities we had. We mostly lucked out with the on-street parking even though we arrived right before the weekend. Our hostess was warm and welcoming, an excellent communicator and accommodating of all of our needs.

The towel rings in both bathrooms need to be fastened securely to the wall. Also, the light switch for the overhead in the bedroom at the top of the stairs works only intermittently. Finally, since the upstairs bathroom doesn't have a main door, I might add a curtain or folding screen for it in case someone wants privacy in there for getting dressed. Just minor things to address that every property has.

Wonderful stay for a family of 5, with 3 little kids (5, 3 and 1 years old). Great cafe in the next block, 1 min walk to Macca's, short walk from a supermarket. Lot's of historic buildings and sight seeing in a walking distance. Bus stop right outside the property, which is nice in case you plan to get around with public transportation. It was very easy to communicate with the host via the booking app. Laundry detergent supplied upon request. Would recommend and stay again if I ever get back to Richmond!
