Geiger's Camp in Timbavati Game Reserve by NEWMARK

Geiger’s Camp, located in the Motswari Private Game Reserve, was truly the highlight of our trip. The grounds were beautifully maintained in a natural state, creating an authentic and relaxing atmosphere. The meals were outstanding, the service was impeccable, and every detail of our stay was thoughtfully handled. Our guide team, Hayden and Patrick, were extremely knowledgeable, engaging, and kept us entertained on every game drive. The accommodations were first class and exceeded our expectations in every way. Most of all, the hosts genuinely lived up to their motto: “arrive as a visitor, leave as a friend.”

Fantastic stay. Rooms were lovely, very luxurious. The staff went out of their way to help and were all so friendly to us and our 17 year old boys. Our host/ranger Josh and tracker David were awesome. Josh is so knowledgeable about all aspects of the bush, it was a really great stay and a complete break from the grind! I would definitely recommend it.

We did 8 nights of Safari across 4 camps, so we want to give an honest review. The first 3 nights were at Kruger Shalati, which is the accomodation in the train carriages! AMAZING, HIGHLY, HIGHLY RECOMMEND. 1 night Rhino Post - Don't waste your money 2 nights Plains Camp - Lovely but beware you don't see animals on a walking tour Finally that brings us to 3 nights at Geiger's. This was by far the most expensive of all the accomodations. The chef is incredible but there is no menu, you are just served a 4 course meal as a surprise each night, drinks are included. Its hard to get food, drinks or service in the day (I think the staff take their rest then). It only hosts 5 villas, so its a very small group which is nice. You reason it's worth paying the money is because the game drives on the private reserve that connects to the Kruger are amazing. We saw Lion Mums on a fresh kill with all their cubs, A leopard in a tree eating its kill, a leaoprd walking right up to the safari truck, 5 Rhinos in a group and a baby playing with its mum in the mud, wild dogs and hyenas having a fight, huge crocs and all the usual suspects Elephants, Hippos, Giraffe, Warthogs, Antelopes etc etc.  But for off road viewing right next to the action, this place is worth the money. Our guides Josh and MJ were lovely.

Service in the day for snacks and drinks would have been greatly welcomed

10 stars. What an incredible experience from the staff to the camp to the food. Highly highly recommend. A huge thank you to the entire team, Henry, Lovey, Jeremy, Desmond, Pumi. What a special place and amazing people. Can't wait to go back next year.

The authenticity, care of details and magic of the lodge and specifically our suite were just fantastic. Jeremy and Hendry were such great, knowledgeable, friendly and supportive guides! They give everyone attention and the games drives with them have been unforgettable life experiences thanks to their continuous efforts to explore the bush in look for new animals in different areas. We saw all big5 and more ! The staff Desmond and Lovey were very friendly and the chef plates were so tasty and of high quality. We couldn't make a better choice!
