Contemporary Coach House in Newport, Isle of Wight

It felt just like home.

For us it was ok but if you have a disability or for elderly people I don't think it's the right place to stay as you have to go up the stairs to access the flat.

Warm throughout once heating got going; quiet, spacious and bright upstairs apartment, with glimpses of downland on the horizon. Comfortable bed and sofa. Well-equipped kitchen for cooking. Working washer-dryer. Nearby superstore approximately 8 mins on foot, 1/4 hour walk into town. We were fortunate to meet our friendly host Kieran, who kindly offered a much-appreciated lift.

We were mobile enough that out-of-town location and steep stairs, didn’t dissuade us from booking, although initially needed someone's help to find front door, despite comprehensive location instructions! Dining table chairs too low to sit at table. Assured that repairs to the leaking kitchen tap were in hand. Could do with installing a bathroom hand-towel rail beside washbasin, and please re-plumb the bathroom hot tap to turn in the usual expected direction!

This is a large two-bedroom apartment, which is located on the 1st floor of the house in a quiet area and a personal parking space is provided. There are two large supermarkets within a 5-minute drive: Lidl and Sainsbury's. We were happy to spend 3 nights there. I really liked that the kitchen was well equipped: there was all the necessary staff. seasonings, vegetable oil, butter, spices, sauces (which the owner kindly allowed us to use) - so we didn't have to buy all these during our stay. Bed linen and towels were provided. I highly recommend this accomodation.

It was a little cold in the apartment. According to the thermometer in the bedroom, it was +16. We tried to adjust the thermostat to turn on the heating, but even with a target of 20-22 on the thermostat, the heating did not turn on. At the same time, the hot water supply in the kitchen and bathroom worked well.

Kitchen was exceptionally good. Clean, large and all the appliances were working fine. Rooms were spacious and clean. Parking was free.

Radiators were a bit cold. We increased the set temp but still it felt cold.
