Hot Water Beach Bure Wera

Good location. Spacious, simple and stylish accommodation. Attractive garden area. Close to the beach, which is great for surfing ( but not so great or safe for swimming) . Digging a hot water pool at low tide a lot of fun.

Really lacked good lighting with rather dim central lights . Lamps would have made a real difference to the atmosphere and reading in the evening.

The location was great for the hot water beach. It has what we needed for any kind of cooking such as grill, dishes, tongs. However, there is no food in the area to buy for cooking. Lol. It's also relatively close to Catherdral cove. If you have a rental car it's only 12 min drive away. My wife and I were able to do the hot water beach in the morning and drive to do the 35-45 min hike in the next town for the Catherdral cove.

They need Air Conditioning. Leaving the windows open to cool off at night resulted in us getting too many Mosquito bites since screens are not a thing in NZ. Don't know how we missed that on the initial booking or we just assumed they would have A/C. If you are cooking there is nothing in the area so besite to bring it before you get into town. Or be prepared to drive 45 minutes in narrow winding roads. It should be be obvious but be ready for higher prices. They know it's a tourist destination so be ready for your dinning to be higher priced and small portions. This is understandable as the location is far from any large town and a taxing drive to get there.

Oven and BBQ filthy , brought food to cook but couldn’t use the oven and BBQ for that reason. Entry door locking mechanism fell apart when entering, shower handle fell off when turning on.

This little villa was the perfect escape. We were so pleasantly surprised when we pulled in to see big, glass sliding doors, a deck to lounge on after a day at the beach. Nice big bathroom, a kitchen if you wanted to cook. There was a track directly out the front of the bure Wera leading straight to the beach. Super responsive and helpful host. Loved that the hosts had gone to the effort of writing up about the local area, local eateries and activities to do. Wish we could of stayed the whole week!

The plug and waste in the sink in the bathroom isn’t a push to drain. So we thought it was broken but it isn’t, there’s a method haha Panic messaged the host hoping it wasn’t broken but they were super responsive and helped us figure it out on what I believe was a public holiday. Definitely wish we packed some food as the restaurants were closed as we didn’t realise it was a public holiday.

The layout and location are excellent. Despite being close to the beach, our unit was very private. Great shower. We had a lovely time.

As other reviewers noted, the comforter had a stain and the unit is a bit tired and could use a deep cleaning. While not spotless, it was reasonably clean. Despite these minor negatives, I rate the property a 10 out of 10 due to bonus marks for the spectacular location and fabulous layout. Also, the host kindly let us check in one hour early.

Beautiful property, loved that it has its own walk way to the beach very helpful. Very lovely shower pressure.

Love the Bure Wera style and setting. It's just few minutes' walk to the hot water beach.

There is no insect mesh to prevent mosquitoes and other flying insects from entering, there are a few German cockroaches and spiders in the room.There is water leaking under the kitchen sink. Additionally, the wifi connection is unstable due to bad reception

Fantastic location. Property exceeded my expectations, very comfortable with everything you could need. Would highly recommend.

Great location, short walk from bedroom to the beach. Clean and modern, all the facilities you need.
