The Last Point Koh Takiev

The best place to disconnect for a bit. The staff is super nice and helpful, the beaches are beautiful, and the food is delicious and cheap. There’s 2 happy hours a day so you’re sure to stay hydrated.

If you’re not a fan of outdoors, this might not be for you as this is similar to camping.

This is the most stripped back of the hostels on Koh ta Kiev but it’s definitely the one with the best vibe. It doesn’t rely solely on backpacking volunteers but employs Khmer staff who are all lovely. Food here is the cheapest on the island, drinks are cheap, great happy hour at 3 every day. Max is a really great host and looks out for everyone. You can stray out for a drink or a swim at the other places on the island but it always felt like home coming back to last point in the evening. We booked for 4 nights and ended up staying one week.

Anything people could complain about can be prepared for with very basic research - coconut oil for sandflies, mosquito spray, antihistamines, etc.

Great place! A hidden little gem that makes an authentic experience.

The best thing about the last point is the atmosphere and the staff. It is familiar and if there is time and resources, they are happy to arrange the little extra! You live simple and primitive and you leave the phone in the bag to experience and socialize instead. The islands scenery is beautiful, the food is really good and reasonably priced, and it's easy to relax and just enjoy life here. If you have a great attitude and can compromise away some everyday comforts your stay will undoubtedly be unforgettable. Beautiful swims, chit chat at the bar, volleyball games, blue plankton, boat trips, rock bathing and painting signs are just a few of the things you can do here. The stay becomes what you make of it, all possibilities are there to love this place!

I was satisfied with everything, but a tip for those who book is to carefully read the description of the room you book. If you want it more comfortable, book a private bungalow, otherwise you end up in a dormitory with others or a simple hammock in nature under the open sky. It is very sad that many of the bad reviews are about careless reading of the description, or that you are not prepared to live primitively - for many of us who stay here that’s the luxury!🌟

The place is so natural, it‘s in the process of being built and improved and a spirit of helping to create a lovely place . All inventive ideas are welcomed. Max takes care of everybody kindly and you can rely on him. Take the boat ride with him to Elefant rock and jump the 6m if You dare. There was a storm and the current swept a lot of plastic garbage onto this peaceful beach. The staff offered a free drink for every bag of collected garbage and they cleaned the beach a lot them selves too. Great!

I got 1 Mio moskito bites… and others didn‘t… It s not during sleeping there You have nets but in the evening I guess. Bring anti moskito spray!

Amazing little known oasis island, Great view from our balcony just a few metres from the beach, Nice boat ride to the resort from Ream Beach. Private rustic bathroom (was listed as shared so that was a nice surprise), some phone/data reception if you were lucky. Electricity was available in our room from the generator ran from Dusk until about 23:00, Nice walk through the island to the other resorts for a change of scenery and food/drink options.

Litter washed up on the beaches by the tides, The price of breakfast was far more than the listed price on Booking.com $3-$6.50 USD plus $2 for a coffee. Food service could be erratic. Stock up on any supplies(drink/nibbles) you might need before travelling to the island as as expected the prices here reflect it's remoteness. Shower was more of a bucket that you pour on yourself. Lots of sand fly bites more than mosquitos- take precautions.

No matter what budget you're on - The Last Point got you covered: From spacious sea-view bungalows, a dorm, tents they will pitch up for you to just a hammock on the beach - there's something for everyone. Situated on the south-eastern side of the island you'll have the best sunrise view on the island (and the next beach to view the sunset is just a 4min walk through the jungle away) Their mile of private beach features a flat coast with beautiful fine sand. The kitchen has some of the best Khmer Food on the island (I highly recommend their rice soup for breakfast), as well as western food like pizzas. Their bar offers a wide variety of drinks - Don't miss out on their daily beer happy hour at 3pm! It's a blast :) Even when we booked nights with another resort we came daily just to soak in the good vibes, and have a chat with the staff and the other guests! though this one's not in the hands of the resort, this warrants mentioning: like many southeast asian coastlines Koh ta Kiev also is suffering from trash that gets washed in with the tides. The staff is doing their best to keep the beach tidy, but depending on the swell you will still find plastics on the beach. But if you grab yourself a trashbag at the bar and fill it on your way back, you can exchange it for a beer and karma points when you get back

Amazing staff in a very peaceful environment! They take really good care of the customers and try to clean the beach as much as they can! Good menu with menu items being custom-able to your choice.
