Oakland/University @C Modern & Stylish Private Bedroom with Shared Bathroom

The bedroom itself was plainly furnished, but was clean and well-lit. The shared bathroom was extremely clean and modern.

The shared kitchen was not well-maintained and had become infested with ants.

The accommodation was affordable compared with nearby hotels. The bed was comfortable. The house was mostly clean. The individual rooms had private access codes. The kitchen was well equipped. The bus stop for route 83 to Oakland and Downtown was nearby.

The people on the third floor shared the bathroom with the people on the second floor, where we stayed. Our room for two had minimal furniture: one tiny table and one chair. They only provided one bath towel each, no hand towel. There was no personal communication with the owner; all correspondence was anonymous, and there was no staff on the premises whom we could reach.

It is close to PITT, quiet and a great value.

The best feature of this place was the excellent mattress. I easily get back pain from too soft mattresses, and this was one of the best I had. Location was good, in particular for the universities, with 20 minutes walk to the Cathedral of Learning. The area seems pleasant and safe. The place is very good value in this location. The owner makes a good effort to keep the place clean. I agree with the no shoes in the house rule, but be prepared, bring slippers! There's coffee and tea in the common kitchen. Otherwise it's basic but what you really need is there. Contact with the owner was via messages only.

It's a shared bathroom (as correctly advertised) and once I had to wait 30 minutes to use it. Luckily I wasn't in a hurry at that point. Otherwise I had no problems accessing it. Not sure how trustworthy the number code lock of the room door is; it didn't look all too solid.

I like that everyone obeyed the quiet hours.

I didn’t like the sheets. They were dirty.
