"Stunning cottage, beautiful vibe, excellent location (bring your slippers!)"

8.0

The cabin is absolutely stunning!!!! If you are looking for a perfect family, friends, or romantic getaway, THIS IS IT!! Vibe: The cabin has an extremely cosy atmosphere, well decorated and stocked, and is a fantastic size. The two-level garden is not advertised enough. A cute stone bench with a great view at the top for early morning yoga or tea. Blankets, a huge couch, a fireplace, and a spacious kitchen to fit our double date getaway, cooking together simultaneously. There was a fresh quart of milk in the fridge. Black tea and instant coffee are provided. Comment on another's review: -I saw a review about the neighbour's yard being full of trash and strange miscellaneous items. Yes, there is a hodgepodge of strange items, and it is definitely not well-maintained, but that is their side, and honestly, it does not impact the cabin's vibe at all. When you are at the top of the garden, enjoying the flowers & the views, you choose where to face & its often the horizon & the mountains. Plus, I think it was entertaining (like an ol vintage store). Important notes: - It is a beautiful stone floor and stone-walled cabin, thus it is cold!! The heating does not work well, so make sure to bring warm socks, slippers, and a cute cosy sweater for the house. - The Co-op grocery is a five-minute walk away, as well as the shops and downtown - There are two roads to access the unit, one steep and one not. Avoid the steep one, which has a tight turn. - There is a binder with information about the cabin and local activities. This has the wifi password. Find it. - Dogs are not allowed upstairs or alone in the unit while you are out. - A cute dog bed is provided as well as two metal dog bowls so don't worry about bringing dog bowls like I did, sweet touch. - Kid's highchair provided if needed - There is a washer and dryer if needed. We did not use it, but a nice thing to have (detergent was supplied as well)

There were rules for the home that would have been essential to list before booking. For instance, dogs were not allowed upstairs nor allowed to be left alone. Severely impacted plans as it was not listed. Other locations listed it, so because this one did not, I assumed it was allowed. There was a book binder that had all the information we needed. This was buried under a stack of items. When I had asked for the wifi password on WhatsApp to the point of contact, I was provided, she was a little curt, telling me to check the binder. At that point, I was never told there was one and had to search the house for it, to eventually find it under magazines in the corner on a surface under the stairs. The heating system did not work. It kept saying it was on, but the temperature never read or felt like it was going up. I probably should have asked the WhatsApp contact, but based on her message about the binder, I did not feel it would go well. My U.S. naivety made me ignorant of how cold stone makes a place, haha. Made a fire; there were two logs. However, there was a designated log container that the binder referenced would have had logs in it. I think it might have been forgotten?

"Good for family"

5 mins driving to Zip World (Slate Caverns) and 20 mins to Betws-y-Coed. Have kitchen so we can cook easily. Quiet place. Competitive price compare with the hotel in Blaenau Ffestiniog and Betws-y-Coed.

1. The road to the apartment is dramatically steep. Be careful when you go up and down. 2. Parking space is okay but not suitable for the big car. 3. The owner did not reply me how to get into the house. I try to message and call but no response until 1 hour before we arrive.
