House on the Gwynns Falls

This house is in a unique, peaceful neighborhood, and we enjoyed the serenity. It was perfectly placed, only a few miles from downtown Baltimore and Arundel Mills. Everything was clean and comfortable, and we enjoyed the beautiful spring morning while eating breakfast on the balcony.

Can’t think of anything we didn’t like.

The Host, Mary, was so welcoming and helpful. Her house is beautiful and she had everything there that we needed (coffee, shampoo / conditioner). Very comfortable accomodations! Thank you!

Location was perfect.- needed someplace close to John’s Hopkins. It was an easy ride to get into the city in the morning. The host was so warm and friendly. She showed us around the property and made sure we had everything we needed for a restful night. I really appreciate her warmth.

Nothing to complain about.

It was beautiful! Very well maintained and you could tell a lot of love went into creating the space. Also very clean.

Nothing about the property, but the surrounding areas weren't that great.

This property is right at the boundary of a huge park, overlooking a river and waterfalls. We got up early and took a walk on one of the park paths--it was amazing. The room was very large and comfortable. The house is probably 100 years old or more, quaint, but well maintained. Bathroom very clean with an excellent shower. We would never have thought you could find something so cool within minutes of all-things-Baltimore. Oh yes, not to forget Mary, the hostess. I found her extremely friendly and willing to go to any lengths to make our stay pleasant.

The scenery and house was amazing, the property owner was very kind and welcoming.

Not a thing

The house was beautiful as well as the neighborhood. There were several outdoor seating areas, many beautiful flowers and plants throughout the property, and a lovely waterfall across the street. The neighborhood was very friendly and pretty to look at as we walked around. The host, Mary was very friendly and tended to all of our needs. The fact that this house is pet friendly was a plus for us since we were traveling with our small dog.

Nothing. Everything was great.

I liked it's in a historical location. It might not be everyone taste. But it's a good place to stay for the purpose ones reason to need a place.

I didn't like that the owner makes conversations to find out things you are doing while you are there and simply made in an uncomfortable space because they live on property very nice and just need boundaries. My husband and I are military veterans, so we pay attention to details very well. So, we were met with a neighborhood welcome committee right outside the home just grouped up. Now, mind you, we were behind due to traffic, so we just told the owner we made it in and our ETA (it was very unusual looking) that was the first uncomfortable moment. And I guess it was a great time to clean around the house and repot plants because the next day we got up, so we let the shades down because they were looking through the windows, making us feel like we were being watched while we cook breakfast and get ready for the day. To assume my family was about to have a party, not even sure how that even came to play when we told her we were only there for a family reunion that wasn't going to be at the home through "random conversation". And questions me on why I did not leave at an estimated time I told them in that random conversation. I let them know I wasn't aware we were being micromanaged or had a tell them anything respectfully. My 69-year-old mother had to get an understanding with the owner because I politely walked away. Very taken back by the actions of the owner. However, they did apologize for their actions and told us they were completely out of line. And that we were respectful and been nothing but kind people. Because it is very inappropriate to profile people for staying somewhere and assuming they are going to mess up your home. I was traveling with my Elder Parents (the up stairs has a old steep stairs case)that was okay but *noted. All in all, just ask the property owner you request your privacy. Even tho they live behind the property. We appreciate the stay, but unfortunately, we will not be using their services anymore.
