Small Double room to rent

Very clean and modern

Very strong smell of scented cleaning products . I was very tired after a long journey, I was not able to sleep until about ten o’clock because I could hear conversations going on in the next room. From a safety point of view I was concerned that the bedroom window was locked and there would be no way to escape in case of fire

No lock on door

The bed was small and pushed up against the wall making it difficult to get in and out of bed. Unable to fully open the window. So it was a bit stuffy on a hot night

We have stayed here once before so it was easy to find. Richard came out to greet us and showed us to the little room upstairs and basically left us to organise ourselves.. It was the hottest day of the year and he said he would give us a fan for the very hot and humid night ahead. Sure enough, when we returned in the evening he delivered the fan as promised! We were only booked in for one night and, being familiar with the town, it was very easy to retrace our steps to the breakfast cafe we enjoyed last time. Oh yes, the lovely bathroom was close to the room and we both enjoyed a cool shower in the morning. Thank you Richard.

We would suggest a much lighter duvet for the summer months!

Modern and clean

A good clean room with tea/coffee facilities. A very nice bathroom and good shower. Our two bicycles were secured out of sight as requested. There's no meal option for breakfast but there are good cafes in the port area or in Brighton. A good option for travelling into Brighton without Brighton's prices. Very handy for the port. And of course a friendly host who is fairly flexible to meet the needs of visitors.

Google maps routing to get there via Gibbon Road - that was a steep pedal from the port then to descend to the property - seemed like unnecessary ascent to me.
