Hirtshals Idrætscenter - Vandrehjem - Hostel

Very clean and functional. As I arrived in low season, I had a big room all to myself.

Would help to have better signage to find the entrance. I arrived in the dark and was struggling to find the door.

As far as I'm aware the only hostel available i Hirtshals - therefore convenient for taking the ferry in the morning. The rooms were basic, and it took a while to understand the check in system, but everything worked out fine. The hostel doesn't seem to be busy even in the peak season - I was alone in my dorm room then.

Located in the outskirts of Hirtshals - quite far from the train station and ferry terminals.

I was here before the start of high season so there was only one other guest. Got an entire room to myself which is nice. Very friendly staff, eager to learn and adapt since they opened to Booking.com this april. Lots of room to sit and chill. Very good price for what you get.

A full building might be a challenge for the staff and visitors. There's only a small countertop with a sink and some kitchenware, and one microwave to 'cook' with. Was missing some cups and things that would be generally useful for when not every guest brought their own stuff. Told the staff and they came the next morning and filled up the drawers. Great service.
