Childwall Abbey, Liverpool by Marston's Inns

The location is great and from the outside (including it's surroundings), it's also great. It's got a good size car park too.

Despite the external look, the rooms are dated and could do with an refurb. That said, I was only there for 1 day so it suited what I needed.

Steak was cold, dry and tough for medium rare. Bathroom pipework noisy, unable to sleep

Comfortable bed clean room and bathroom .Room needs a bit of TLC the tap in the bathroom is is loose you are scared to touch. Its an old building so certain things are expected but general maintenance

The food I'm afraid is not great . I have eaten there before just lunch and it seemed like warmed up food dried out. This time they did seem short staffed that day . The wait was way too long and when it came it was cold and not cooked well . Steak was one of the item ordered sirloin costing just under £20 and it was so tough struggled to cut it,it was cold and wasnt a sirloin cut of meet i have had better rump steak before .Also by time mine came out the others I was with had finished their food and had to wait but even when it came back it was hot but still the steak was fatty wasnt great so I left it So the food needs some work but the stay was lovely in the hotel itself

Great room — clean, comfortable, and exactly what we needed for our stay. We slept really well and enjoyed the overall atmosphere
