The Woolpack York - Unforgettable Group Getaway in Central York

Highly recommend this large, well presented house, which made an 80th birthday party special 6 bedrooms with twin beds or doubles if pushed together meant all of the family could stay. A huge dining table allowed us to eat together. Just a few minutes walk to the town centre. Facilities were great would definitely return as an ideal spot for a get together.

Fantastic living space, and lots of room to accommodate our party of 8. Excellent cooking facilities too. Spacious and comfortable bedrooms. Within walking distance to town centre, close to supermarkets and bus stops right outside.

Pub next door rather noisy with live music, but stopped at 10:30pm so bearable. Couldn’t get fresh air into kitchen/sitting room so quite hot and stuffy. Only downside was no parking, but we used public car parks nearby or booked private parking spots.

Showers could be improved with regards to heat regularity and power. In the front bedroom facing the East, the sun is very bright so could do with better curtains.

Our group of 11 stayed at the Woolpack for a friends hen. The hosts were wonderful and communicative throughout and left us plenty of prosecco and treats for our arrival. The property was absolutely perfect for our needs with plenty of space for entertaining such a big group. The beds were comfortable and the bedrooms beautifully decorated and laid out. The kitchen was stocked with everything you could need to host. We found it took about 15 minutes to walk to most of the main attractions in York so is a perfect base for exploring. 100% would recommend and would definitely book again if I had a large group.
